I love books. When I am at a place, my first preference is always to buy from independent shops. Bigglestones is a lovely little book shop, right next to the post office - worked out well, as I had some Xmas gifts to dispatch, didn't I?
Fantastic bookshop, the size of which belies the depth and range of books stocked. Co-owner Drew was in attendance and his knowledge of Glasgow, and writers in general, made the visit extra special.
Went in wanting a book but unsure what to buy; the staff offered detailed and bespoke advice and helped me walk away with two great reads. Super helpful and friendly, and a lovely small shop
Mr Bigglestone has been in each time I've visited, and what a lovely bookstore owner you couldn't wish for happier. I was recommended, 'I want my hat back' the first time, which I'm delighted with. And anything on the back shelf the second time, so I picked up a book of poetry by Kaur, and gifted it page by page to my cohort at college. Oh, and an Alistair Gray which was perfect.
lovely little bookshop, right around the corner from where we were staying. such a good selection of books that i’d never seen before, and the bags you are mega! if you’re looking for something new to read, and want to see a selection of books you haven’t seen before definitely give it a visit! also a proper cute little photo gallery downstairs with some amazing photography work🔥
