This is probably one of the best, if not, the best Mexican Restaurant I have visited in Calgary. The variety is insane! So many dishes you'd thought you'd never find in Canada. And the flavour is amazing! The portions per price ratio is also beautiful. Our server Nelly was the best! Please go here if you want Mexican, por favor.

Living in California, I am skeptical of out-of-State Mexican restaurants. They often state authentic but deliver low quality food. Birria Cantina was a wonderful exception. The food was fantastic. It can be difficult to find al pastor on the menu and theirs was excellent! Food portions were not huge but the quality was excellent. I enjoyed the authentic jamaica and the horchata was the best I've ever tasted. I had to ask for double-shelled tacos so ask if you prefer a bit more food. The service was pleasant but not attentive enough. As a newer restaurant, I'm sure this will improve. If you want authentic Mexican cuisine I highly recommend this restaurant!

Found this place on an instagram reel. A week later and the family had to go to Calgary for a tournament and we all had to try this place. We started with the birriachos, my son and I had the birria tacos, my wife the conchinita pibil tacos and my daughter the pastor tacos. And what would a trip to a Mexican restaurant be without churros for desert. Food was fresh and full of authentic flavour. Position sizes were good and service was awesome. Will definitely stop here next time we are in Calgary.

We visited Birria Cantina during our trip to Calgary, and it was an exceptional experience. It’s the first time we have found truly authentic Mexican cuisine in Canada, and every dish we tried exceeded our expectations. My family and I have very discerning tastes when it comes to Mexican food, and this restaurant impressed us in every way. The flavors, presentation, and attention to detail were outstanding. We would like to sincerely congratulate the chefs and owners for their dedication to authenticity and quality. They truly made us feel as if we were back in Mexico. Thank you for such a wonderful dining experience — we look forward to returning on our next visit to Calgary.

Food was decent and had good flavor but nothing to write home about...way overpriced for what it is...6 of us went and ordered 5 dishes and our meal was almost $400 for lunch. Service could have been better as we had to repeatedly ask for water and wait around and finally find someone for our bill. They do have a fun hit the buzzer game at the end of the meal tho!
