Bishops was the first hair salon I ever went to when I moved to Richmond. They were recommended by a coworker because of the good rates and proximity to where I live. She was right. Despite the convenience they offer, I decided to find another salon. I always had to wait at least 15 minutes for my turn no matter if I arrived early or on time. Plus, i feel like the street parking situation is getting worse. What did keep me from coming back was the hairdresser. She definitely knows what she’s doing and I always loved how she cut my hair.
I absolutely love my experience every time I come in. Carrie has been cutting my hair for over a year now, and I am beyond happy with the amount of precision she spends perfecting the cut. You can tell that she is always trying to put out her best work, which is nice compared to other salons and barbershops. Everyone's attitude in the store fosters a welcoming environment in which people feel safe to be whoever they want to be. Hats off to the entire staff and keep it up!
I went in the day before my wedding for polished curls, and the experience was wonderful. Sara did a beautiful job with my hair, giving me a huge boost of confidence right before the wedding weekend started. My hair has always been a challenge for me, but everyone at Bishops has made me feel seen, respected, and I always leave with freaking awesome hair. My husband loved it here too. Best salon in RVA.
I am new to Richmond and it can be daunting to find a new hair stylist, however not only was it easy to get an appointment, Lee did a fantastic job! She listened to my requests and I am looking forward to seeing her again! Lee is a sweetheart! Everyone in the shop was so friendly (looking at you, Erica!) It is a cool shop and everyone is welcome and that was my favorite part!
Been unsuccessfully searching for a salon that was a good fit ~ professional and approachable stylists, good atmosphere, easy to schedule, and reasonably priced ~ since moving to the RVA/Henrico area a couple years ago. My oldest just started at VCU in August and discovered Bishops which is right around the corner from their dorm. They got a great cut there and told me about it, so I scheduled a long cut online for my 12yo daughter last week. The stylists were friendly and the whole vibe of the place was full of positive energy. My daughter had a cut with Lee who did a great job and got us in & out on a busy weeknight. My daughter loved it and I’ll be scheduling for myself soon!
