Great shop! Super glad I met Jason. I had started a sleeve at another shop and unfortunately, the artist passed away. It was hard to find an artist that would help me finish what was already started. Jason helped me flesh out the rest of the sleeve and we're taking it in a whole new and exciting direction! Can't wait until we start adding color to the black work he's done so far. The shop is clean and the vibe is very calm and zen-like. When you spend hours, and hours, and hours getting tattooed, it really helps having an environment where you feel comfortable and it's easy to have a conversation. If you're looking for Japanese Traditional work in Pittsburgh, I can't recommend Jason highly enough.
I have gotten a couple tattoos from Dahlia and am always so impressed and happy with the outcome. Dahlia is an amazing artist who always makes sure that you love what you are getting. Every time I've gotten a tattoo from her, she makes sure that I am comfortable, which is so nice! Dahlia really just makes the entire tattoo experience so positive. I totally recommend this place!
Dahlia has been an absolute dream to work with! She reconstructed an original tattoo from 8 years ago and transformed it into a beautiful floral partial sleeve. She also tattooed an amazing mountain from my favorite book series above my knee. She is always so patient, kind, and helpful when it comes to the tattooing process! I've sent my sister and fiance to her because of this! Go see Dahlia for all your tattoo needs!
Ridiculously beautiful work by Dahlia. She is super nice and was really helpful in explaining every little thing to me and helping me make decisions on placement! Probably the cleanest lines and most talented artist I’ve seen in Pittsburgh. Lots of very cool and unique flash to pick from. She also made sure I was comfy the whole time and we had a great chat. Already planning what other tattoos I can get from her! 100/10 seriously just look at that.
I got my first tattoo on 10/22 by Jason Lambert at Black Cat Tattoo. I had been researching designs for traditional Japanese tattoos and artists who for 2 years. All of the information I found said to go Black Cat. When I finally decided on some design ideas I went to Jason for an initial meeting. Jason and everyone at Black Cat was extremely friendly and welcoming. Jason was on the same wave length as me and I was confident he was the right person for the job. The day of the tattoo Jason and I discussed basic ideas again, I told him I wanted a cloud background with kitsune and Sakura. Jason began by outlining a design on my arm and it was awesome watching him work. When I saw it coming together I was amazed. The design Jason came up with on the spot was so much better than anything I found on Pinterest. When he finished the outline of the drawing he gave me time to look at it from every angle. He made it clear that he was perfectly fine if I wanted to make any changes to his design. Since his artwork was perfect I got situated to begin tattooing. He eased my mind by saying if at any time I needed a break to let him know. I ended up not needing a break and he completed the outline in one sitting. Not only did he do excellent tattoo work it was great talking with him during the process. At the end I felt like I owed him one fee for the tattoo and I should pay an additional fee for a conversation regarding Zen Buddhism. It was like a lecture from a professor at Harvard. I had very high expectations for my first tattoo experience and Jason and everyone at Black Cat far exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend them to anyone who would like a tattoo. You can be fully confident in getting what you want and being treated like an old friend while you are there. I can’t wait for my next session and the many more to follow.
