The cuts are good, but wow are the times all over the place. My first cut was with Nick, who asked me to come in early and then I waited for 30 minutes. A bit annoying but the result was terrific. Nick books out a ways, so my second cut was with someone else. It took over an hour, during which she stopped cutting to talk so many times, I think it was probably 30 minutes of actual effort. I even told her at the beginning that I had to get back to work after, which apparently had no effect. I can't justify that much time on a simple cut.
My friend Goran recommended Black River about six months ago, and I’ve been a client ever since. The barbershop is great, especially Bryan—he is a top master of his craft and an amazing human being. The shop itself is very nice and well-organized, and everyone is friendly! Plus, I always get compliments on my haircut.
I’ve gone here a few times and have had great experiences each time. All of the barbers are very friendly and clearly know what they are doing. Rae has cut my hair the last two times and has done a wicked good job each time. She asks a lot of questions and it’s obvious she really cares about making sure you’re happy with your haircut. I definitely recommend this barbershop.
I've been going to Black River for the last 3 years and have seen several different barbers during that time. Every experience has been wonderful. The barbers are friendly, accommodating, and excellent at their jobs. I regularly see Emma and she is especially great. The service is absolutely worth the price and you will walk out with a haircut you're happy with.
Needed a haircut, badly, and scheduled an appointment on a whim - was a little nervous about the price but now I can't wait to come back. Great experience, Steve was awesome and did an excellent job. Place is very nice, and the vibe is very funky and cool.
