Just had an a amazing experience with Cesar! We did a combination using white ink and uv ink. I felt comfortable from start to finish. He took the time to explain each part of the process and went through multiple designs with me to make sure I loved the design before we got started. Compared to my other piece, Cesar had a soft touch and the pain was minimal. I was super excited once we finished. Would highly recommend and I am already thinking about the next one!
Love this place! Won't find another artist in LA (not looking) since I found this spot. Homey castle vibe with great staff. Will always return, I am grateful for them!
I was traveling to Nice from the US and had my heart set on getting a tattoo during my travels. Black Hat was incredibly warm and welcoming, with great artists. Joe did my tattoo, and he was very professional and VERY talented. Very happy with the experience overall. If you are looking for good artists and a good vibe, this is the place!!
I’m pretty disappointed with my tattoo that just got. I came in last October (2023) on the Friday the 13th flash day. Normally I’m not someone who gets a tattoo impulsively/blind but I’d always wanted a Friday the 13th tattoo! At the end of it, out of all my tattoos, this one is my least favorite. The line work is terrible, the circles aren’t symmetrical, it feels blown out in certain places, and I feel like you can tell it was a rushed, botched job. Dani was my artist and I don’t recommend him! Everyone else there was nice but do not go to Dani. I haven’t even had it for a year and I’ve already thought about getting it removed! The only saving grace is that it is on the outside of my arm which means I barely have to look at it because it makes me mad everytime I see it.
I’ve gotten 3 tattoos here and they’re all amazing, I constantly get compliments on them. I go to Mario and he does great work. They are also very knowledgable about how to take care of my tattoos afterward. I’m really impressed by how seriously the shop takes covid. Even in mid 2022 they take my temperature at the shop and everyone wears masks, even though most businesses have fallen off. Regardless of how seriously you personally take covid, this is a huge, positive green flag for their sanitation practices.
