Firstly Mollie our waitress for the night, was so superb, that the bar for service I'll now accept has gone way, way up as a result! The food was delectable, I got the butchers cut rip eye, medium-rare, with the peppercorn sauce, sides of choice were chips and slaw (take your fancy with the sides) tied together with a red wine (second from the top), was such a joy to consume. Then the desert... is a surprise haha, so I'll just hint at the cheesecake. 😉 Lastly I wish to reiterate that the service of the whole team truly elevated everything, the lady who let us know that they were booked up (we were walk ins) and we had to wait, and they would notify us, was very swift and smooth process. The guy who informed us how the big chop and cuts work was easy to understand and to the chefs! who clearly know how to cook great food, and deliver a 5 star plate. Hats off to them! Did I mention Mollie?! Again Mollie was funny, very clear to understand, patient, swift and easy to talk to, her recommendations were spot on and the dining was made all the more wonderful as a result. Vibe was dimly lit, with a little noise, like a tavern but nicer. The aesthetic was so endearing once you realise it, especially the dishware and serving plates etc. And the music as the time were great accompaniments. Deservedly packed, absolutely coming back! 💯
Exactly what we wanted - a Sunday roast lunch for the family! The choices are purposely limited so that you can be sure the restaurant is concentrating on doing one thing really well. There was a line up outside when we arrived, and I was glad I'd made a reservation two months in advance. It was very busy quite quickly. It is a bit tight but good natured overall. We had great service and even though two members of our party were delayed coming on the tube, we weren't pressurized to get going. We were told when the staff expected to have the table back and the timing was perfect. We had just asked for our coats back at the end of that time! Our party of seven had a variety of the roasts and no one was disappointed. There is a lot of food on the plate when it arrives and it was hard to find a place to start! The Yorkshire puddings are enormous, and delicious. There is gravy for everyone and even the veggies were amazing. Do remember to save room for dessert. We sampled the outstanding cheesecake and bread pudding with ample custard. We were delighted with our Sunday lunch. Highly recommended.
It is a MUST GO restaurant in London. The prime ribs is just so juicy that every bites you make, the juice is leaking from your mouth. The meat is just as tender as tofu. Quality of the meat is insane. Rump cap was recommended by the waitress who serve our table. I really like how the fats and lean meat were cuts perfectly. We also order a mushroom on toast, unfortunately I didn’t manage to get a pic of that but it’s also a must try when you visit. The white choco cheese cake was a perfect dessert to end this experience. I haven’t try any steak this best in my life before. Definitely my No.1 spot for lunch/dinner in London. Will re-visit for sure. Don't forget to mention that the waitress at our table was very friendly. Her names is Lucy. She is very friendly and nice talking person. She definitely makes our day better when we were there. So we tips her personally as she deserves it. Thank You Lucy.
Blacklock Soho: A Carnivore's Dream in the Heart of London I visited Blacklock Soho on a friend's recommendation, and I can wholeheartedly say I was not disappointed. This restaurant fully lives up to its motto, prominently displayed at the entrance: "For the love of chops." If you consider yourself a lover of perfectly cooked meat, this is your definitive destination. To start the evening, we enjoyed some savory hors d'oeuvres, followed by a surprisingly delicate and rich bone marrow-a great way to warm up the palate. We balanced the richness with a vibrant side of kale and parmesan salad, which was fresh and perfectly dressed. For the main event, I opted for the "All in One"-a masterful platter featuring a mix of beef, pork, and lamb chops served over a grilled flatbread. This dish was beautifully executed and seasoned perfectly. Considering the generous portions and its central Soho location, the pricing here is remarkably reasonable. The true magic lies in the cooking method; the charcoal grilling imparted a lovely, deep smokiness to the meats that elevated every bite. Each chop was tender, juicy, and cooked to an absolute ideal temperature. Beyond the food, the restaurant itself provides the perfect backdrop. The ambiance is relaxed and cozy, ideal for winding down and truly relaxing over a meal with friends. The atmosphere feels intimate yet buzzy. The service throughout the meal was both efficient and good, ensuring glasses were filled and courses were delivered seamlessly. Blacklock Soho isn't just a steakhouse; it's a celebration of simple, expertly handled ingredients. Highly, highly recommended.
We were absolutely impressed with our first experience at Blacklock Soho. The food was incredibly delicious, and I definitely recommend visiting this place at least once. The steak was juicy, slightly fatty in the best way, and cooked perfectly. We visited on Monday, and they were offering a great deal - £50 for a 650g steak, which I think is excellent value. The cheesecake is definitely worth trying: perfectly creamy, rich in flavor but not overly sweet. The berry sauce that came with it complemented it so well. My recommendation is to book a table in advance, because if you walk in, the waiting time can reach up to 1.5 hours. So, to be fair, I highly recommend making a reservation. I also want to highlight the service - it was absolutely wonderful. We especially loved Federico, who was incredibly kind, fun, and made the whole experience even more memorable. His presentation of the cheesecake was unforgettable. We will definitely be coming back!
