Captain Alex was a wonderfully succinct but informative teacher while on the speedboat so we could spend more time with hands-on training! Our class had 4 people so we each got to man the speedboat for a good amount of time. We left from North Cove Marina instead for our class, so the waters were a bit choppy where the fresh and salt water mixed... Alex let us sail once we were in the calmer part. Highly recommend Boatsetter Academy and their free 2 hour introduction to boating class!
Amazing experience, would do it again. Telling all my friends about the fun experience. Alex was a great instructor!
Took a trip out with captain Alex a few days ago from pier 25 near tribeca. Super fun and relaxing at the same time. Alex was very knowledgeable and answered all the questions we had about other boats, waves etc. He gave everyone a turn driving the boat and pointed out landmarks. Would definitely ride again.
Best boating experience I've ever had. It was so much fun - high speed boating in the San Diego Bay on a bright day for two hours. Captain Brandon was very patient with answering our questions. I learned a lot about center console boats - how to operate it, how to navigate in the water and a lot of other technical details. Highly recommend this course.
Boatsetter works with Big Apple Charters to provide boating courses from the harbor by Chelsea Piers. We went out with Amal and Roland, both friendly, knowledgable, and highly experienced. Top-notch equipment and a great chance to learn. It's also fun to see the city from a different perspective on the water and learn about the extensive boating culture in New York.
