Best Puerto Rican restaurant in NC! Tried a range across the menu and literally everything was delicious, but my favourite was the soul bowl - made with arroz con gandules, tostones, collards, mac and cheese, and pernil. It was super generous in size and hit every flavour note - especially with the house made sauces. The empanadas were awesome too. Staff couldn’t have been nicer. Can’t wait to go back.

The flavor profile of the pernil (roast pork) was spot on. The tostones (fried green plantains) were fresh, crispy and well seasoned. The empanadas were stuffed full and flavorful. The service was great. We arrived very close to closing time so it was fairly empty and the staff was sorta cleaning up for the night. I highly recommend trying this place if (like me) you need an occasional trip back to Boricua cooking, bit with a little soul. The prices were reasonable as the portions were generous.

I absolutely loved my experience at Boricua Soul! From the moment I walked in, the warm, inviting atmosphere and the friendly, attentive staff made me feel right at home. Everyone was so kind and helpful, ready to answer questions and make great recommendations. The food was incredibly fresh and seasoned perfectly — you can truly taste the love and authenticity in every bite. Each dish had that perfect balance of flavor that reminded me so much of Puerto Rico. The flavors took me straight back to the island — comforting, soulful, and made with care. The restaurant itself was clean, bright, and welcoming, with a laid-back vibe that fits perfectly into the American Tobacco Campus setting. You can tell the team here takes pride not just in the food, but in creating a positive experience for every guest. Whether you’re craving something that brings you closer to home or just looking for amazing Puerto Rican-inspired dishes, this is the place to be. I’ll definitely be coming back — everything about it made me smile and feel that island soul! 🌴💛

Closest thing to Puerto Rican food that I've had in this area. The food was hot and flavorful and portion size was on point. I also tried their strawberry and peach lemonade. I would definitely be back to try their other selections.

The place is a little bit tricky to find but the street signage does what it can to try and navigate you to the establishment. Inside is a cozy vibe with nice murals and enough seating to enjoy dining in. I tried The Platter (Chicharonnes de Pollo and Pernil) and empanadas. The collard greens were spicy which I liked, plantains were cooked to perfection, and the beef empanadas were delicious, crispy, and not too greasy. The Chicharonnes de Pollo and Pernil lacked some seasoning in my opinion but weren’t terrible. The service was great and didn’t take long. I’d come back to try the sweet potato empanada since they were sold out the night I visited. 7/10 overall.
