My daughter was home from college for the holidays when her CV axle boot ripped and damaged her flex brake line causing it to leak brake fluid. It was completely unsafe to drive. On the day after Christmas I noticed the puddle of brake fluid and I needed her car to be repaired ASAP to get her back to school. I previously noted the positive comments about Bowen Automotive on the r/Huntsville subreddit and google reviews. Trey got my daughter's car fixed within 24 hours of having it towed to the shop. The repairs were excellent and reasonably priced, but most importantly we got my daughter on the road safely.
This auto mechanic was recommended by budget Brakes, due to what I thought was a brake issue. Bowen automotive was able to schedule a drop off date, Friday, with no promise of getting to look at vehicle til next week. To my surprise I got a call that the issue with vehicle has been diagnosis and work can be completed if I give them the ok. I agreed, the work was completed same day. I received call that car is ready. I went to pickup car, and was told they had a problem with drive shift and car wouldn’t be ready til next week. No one called to follow up with me about the other mechanical problem or that car will not be ready till next week. The issue of no call to communicate problem resulted in: 1. Rearranging a ride to auto shop next week. 2. No call about discovery of second issue. I question how was this issue discovered since I has a call that car is ready after it was road tested. (I’m still not sure how this happened nor the actual mechanical problem). Granted that the issue was corrected with no additional charge. I just feel the communication should have been better. The quality of work on both issues, I can’t say, only time will tell.
Bowen Automotive is very well-experienced in repairs to many vehicles. In addition, the owner, Trey, is very pleasant to deal with. I also like the shop's reasonable prices and the fact that they offer a warranty on work that they do.
Had a issue with my lifters, in a 2020 chevrolet silverado, trail boss, with only 40,000 miles. It's a faulty part that GM knows about but won't fix. The warranty had just ran out. Took my truck to Bowen Auto and spoke to the owner, Trey. He reassured me that everything was going to be and by the next morning he had checked everything out and confirmed my worst fears. He had the truck for three days and was fixed. Just an amazing turnaround time. For the engine work that he had to do, he DID NOT gouge me on price and it was extremely reasonable. Trey is a excellent mechanic, family man and all around just a great person. I and my family will be taking ALL of our vehicles there from now on. Thanks Trey.
Thankful to have found a trustworthy automotive shop here in South Huntsville. Trey was quick to return my phone call and answer all of my questions with transparency. He was able to quickly diagnose and resolve the issue with my 2015 Suburban. He had my car ready within a few hours and charged a very reasonable rate for the service performed.
