A waste of time unfortunately.. I came right when they opened, greeted by an unpleasant secretary- that’s not surprising anywhere these days but it should be. I came in with a very swollen and painful foot. Clearly inflamed possibly due to my previous hx of plantar fasciitis and plantar fibromatosis. I could not bare ANY weight on it and had only slept one hour last night. So clearly in pain. Alexus Skobodzinski, M.D provided me with an X-ray and crutches. That was it. No explanation of what could be wrong nor any empathy for what I was experiencing at this time (was empathy not a part of the curriculum before graduating? It should be. Please do better, you’re dealing with real life people.) I was prescribed Tylenol and ibuprofen..I should have also been given prednisone which I learned after going to a different location that day. The symptoms I had were not unusual, and so it should have been a simple visit. I was not pleased with the care.
The good: The provider made me feel heard even though there wasn't much they could diagnosis me with (just an acute cold / hacking cough that luckily wasn't bronchitis) The bad: They billed my insurance $385 for the visit. My visit included 2hrs 45min of time in the waiting room followed by 10 minutes in the exam room. Approximately 3 of those minutes were spent with the assistant who took my vitals (blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen level) and noted my symptoms in the system. 2 minutes was with the provider (listened to my breathing with a stethoscope, spoke to me). 5 minutes was spent waiting. I walked away with a prescription. I understand that what they charge you for overhead and services, but the amount I got billed suggests their hourly rate is $4620. I can only imagine how much they would have charged me had I needed to take any sort of test. I absolutely will not go to this urgent care again. Update 11/18 following a call with the director and patient services: They standby this billing rate. The way health insurance works you might get billed less if you don't have the same bcbs plan, but I highly recommend looking elsewhere and asking about costs because this is the baseline price with my health plan.
I'm not sure if its the medical health as a whole but, Brown University Health (formerly Coastal medical) seems to practice inhumanity! I have a recent severly painful condition that was initially treated with antibiotics. I was referred to a specialist which was booking out 2 weeks. Since scheduling my specialist appointment my same same, very painful symptoms returned. Now on business day 2 and the refuse to re-prescribe the antibiotics that helped roughly 30 days ago when the symptoms started. Each response when I enquire or they call back they say they will call me back whi h takes 2 to 3 hours to hear back. Meanwhile, I am missing time out of work and have an infection! This poor treatment is outrageous and unacceptable! This company and its employees have ZERO sympathy or personal care. They just process bodies
I received excellent care today at Urgent Care on Branch Ave. from check in to discharge, every personnel was professional, friendly and caring. Jeremy Dibiasio NP is an amazing, compassionate professional. He was through is his assessment of my symptoms, providing me with the appropriate tests and following up the same day with the results. As a former nurse at Miriam ER, I was truly impressed by all the staff, techs, nurses and the care and service they provide to the community. Lois
The best urgent care clinic I’ve ever been to, and I’ve been to many. I’ve been here several times since moving to Providence, and I’ve always had a very positive experience. I’ve never had to wait long, no matter what time of day or day of the week I’ve come in, and I’ve always been treated with great skill and compassion. Dr. Jibril is especially excellent. In addition to being a great clinician, she’s also very personable and patient-centered. The administrative staff and medical assistants are also caring and attentive. I wouldn’t consider going anywhere else in the area for my urgent care.
