Bruce's A/C: A/C replacement unit. Caught me late on a Friday / 115 degree day; wife had had a stroke and I couldn't wait. Way over-priced but I was in a serious pinch. They even brought their mba-wannabe around the next morning to see the dummies they'd conned. An employee ripped an old thermostat off the wall, then said 'oops' but didn't offer to repair the new hole in the wall. Didn't give me five seconds of explanation of how to use the new thermostat. Haven't responded to any request for information on how to best use the new thermostat. Or any other 'inquiry'. Or my request for a receipt that actually was complete and legible. Saying you should count your fingers when you get done 'shaking hands' with one of their reps does not begin to capture the reality. And, yes, this has taken awhile because my wife requires my attention almost 24/7. And, yes, removing all the graphic and explicit expletives from this 'review' has shortened the length by about 90%.
My property management company had Jamie from Bruce's air-conditioning come over and do an estimate/troubleshooting. My system was not cooling adequately on very warm days in Arizona. Jamie listened to my description and experiences with the issue, and took into account the steps I had already taken with another AC technician. He spent over an hour thoroughly diagnosing the situation, spending a lot of time in the attic, on the roof, and on a ladder inside checking vents and skylights. He did not ask any redundant questions and was incredibly courteous at all times. He completed his work and sent the report forward to my property manager. Jamie was a consummate professional, and a business is only as good as its people. I am impressed and very happy with my entire experience with Bruce's thus far! He was not able to go into specifics as I am not the one making the decision on how to resolve this, but I am confident that his report is thorough and accurate. He spent 10 minutes at a time in my attic and it was quite warm up there. Thank you for brightening my day and setting the bar for what good service should be. Wonderful!
Paid over $10K for an AC unit 3 years ago. The crew left damage behind, but when I brought it up, one of the “owners” told me I signed off and refused to help. They said everyone gets the same service whether they spend $500 or $50K which was terrible service... More recently, I paid $80 for a tech to diagnose an issue. When I asked for the capacitor size, they refused to tell me because I told them my buddy will do it. I was told to “just Google it, you have the unit #" I paid them for this basic info. Hundreds of HVAC companies in the Valley — do yourself a favor and skip these guys.
