We recently worked with Rosie & RJ to board & train our sweet pup Magnolia. Magnolia stayed for a 4 week board-and-train and we were so pleased with our experience. They made it so easy from drop-off to updates to pick-up, we felt like our pup was so well taken care of. Since bringing Magnolia home, she now knows the rules and follows our commands so much better than before being with Calm on Command. Rosie & RJ provided us with thorough homework and our graduation session was full of information to go home with. Now, Magnolia enjoys getting picked up on the bus to go out for hikes with the group on Thursdays! We're so glad we found Rosie & RJ and would recommend them to anyone looking for high quality training.

I am so thankful to Rosie and RJ for what they have brought me & my dog Jelly Bean! Before the 4-week board and train, she was a ball of anxiety- scared of everything, which resulted in excessive barking. It was difficult to have company over, socialize with other dogs, and meet her needs. Now, she is excited to meet new people and other dogs, and is confident on walks and out in public. The best part is, she is still the same dog with the personality I love so much. I've gotten so many compliments on her behavior and have to pinch myself! I loved that their training focused on building her confidence from the inside and rewarding good behavior, not punishment or negativity. They also prepared me with everything I needed to keep up the training myself. Rosie & RJ really went the extra mile, showing her so much love and care. They truly want lasting results for all their clients and are so supportive after the training as well. I already have Jelly Bean signed up to board with them for an upcoming family trip, and I know she will be so excited to see them! I missed her every day of the 4 weeks, but I know that time will be made up with all the fun things we get to do together now.

RJ and Rosie are lifesavers and true experts in their profession. Our dog Rocky is a mix of German Shepherd and Lab. We got him when he was about 3 months old from a rescue. When he arrived, we found him to be a sweet gentle dog who we felt very safe and comfortable with our two children and cat. However, we also found him to be a bit insane (more than just typical puppy things). He broke our porch door, barked all night, pulled like crazy on walks, jumped and mouthed when meeting people, didn't listen to commands, and overall was a huge amount of work/stress for the whole family. We were about ready to give up on Rocky when we found Calm on Command. After months of stress for the whole family and losing sleep, we didn't have much left in the tank. We reached out to Rosie and RJ to ask about training, and had a chance to chat with Rosie about all the challenges we were experiencing. After listening to us, describing the Calm on Command program, and answering our questions, Rosie recommended the 4 week board and train program. We decided to enroll Rocky, and are so glad that we did. Here's what we really like about the program: - Rocky made so much progress by going through the board and train program. His recall is now rock-solid, and going for walks with him is so easy (and actually fun) now. He stays on command really well even with distractions. We're so happy to have a dog that listens (as is our 16 year old cat, who no longer gets chased around the house). - It's clear that Rosie and RJ really love dogs. After working with them during the intake, graduation, and communicating with them before, during, and after the program, it was clear that we could trust them to take good care of Rocky. We had a friend who had a bad experience with a board and train program that resulted in the dog becoming hyper aggressive and dangerous around their children, so we were a bit concerned when looking for board and train options. It is clear that with Rosie and RJ, we had nothing to worry about like this. - Having the opportunity to train in a home setting in a city is quite unique. The fact that RJ and Rosie are only training a max of two dogs at any given time means Rocky got socialization (with their own dogs as well), but still got a lot of 1:1 attention and wasn't overwhelmed with a huge number of dogs. The opportunity for Rocky to be in the park, stores and other real-world settings was hugely beneficial for seamlessly integrating him back into our own home. - Rosie and RJ were very transparent with us throughout the process and in terms of setting expectations for the training. For example, a few days into the training Rosie called us to let us know they were having some challenges with Rocky's training due to his anxiety and male instincts (he had not been neutered at that point). She and RJ were concerned that these challenges could impact their ability to fully train Rocky, and discussed options to ensure that Rocky got the full benefit of the program. - Rocky is a very high-energy dog and needs a lot of exercise. We're super busy, but RJ and Rosie trained him to run alongside a bicycle and run/walk on the treadmill, which allows us to meet his exercise needs without completely exhausting ourselves. - Rosie and RJ were very thorough during the graduation lesson. We were surprised that the lesson was scheduled to take three hours, but afterwards it made a lot of sense. They demonstrated all the commands that Rocky learned and gave us a chance to practice. They answered all of our questions about integrating him back into the home and made sure we were 100% comfortable with how to sustain Rocky's training after graduation. - Rosie and RJ also helped us with the barking and the gastrointestinal issues. We are now able to sleep soundly at night with Rocky in his kennel, which is a game-changer.

I had an adult husky for years before rescuing my boy Domino. I got Domino at 11 months old and thought I’d still be well prepared for the quirks of a husky puppy but WOW. I really needed help to lasso my super rambunctious, silly, psycho young boy. I found Calm on Command K9, had a phone consultation with Rosie and Rj…and the rest is history! We are Calm on Command fans FOR LIFE!! We probably all know people or “trainers” who rely on fear, punishment, or methods that feel like borderline abuse to achieve a dog’s obedience. I grew up around a lot of this throughout my life, and this view of dog training made me sad and hesitant. Working with Rosie and Rj has given me so much peace and hope. Their approach JUST MAKES SENSE! They use holistic, functional practices and factor in both the human’s AND dog’s needs which creates a wonderful relationship, just how it should be :) Domino was a classic example of a puppy growing into teenage rebellion with no structure- impulsive, leash pulling/biting, easily distracted/fixating, no recall, jumping, mouthing, etc. Now we are able to build a life together where he can enjoy freedoms and experiences he never could’ve had otherwise. Rosie and Rj truly care about each individual dog and human. I can’t say enough good things about our experience.

Rosie and Rj are kind, caring, and intuitive dog trainers. Through our private lessons, they not only helped improve my dog's behavior, but they also helped my confidence in my ability to care for her. We are both happier because of Calm on Command - thank you!

I can’t say enough good things about Calm on Command! My dog, Mads, just finished their 5-week Board & Train Bootcamp, and the transformation has been incredible. Before training, walks were stressful and unpredictable because of her reactivity. Now, I finally feel confident leaving my apartment with her. Rosie and RJ clearly care deeply about the dogs they work with, and it shows in everything they do, from their consistent communication to the Instagram updates. Mads came home more focused and much easier to work with. If you’re looking for trainers who are not only skilled but genuinely passionate about helping both dogs and owners succeed, I can’t recommend them enough. Mads and I are so grateful!
