I’m writing to share concerns about my child’s recent experience at OTX camp. After attending, my child was sick for 10 days. He came home noticeably weak, and while the illness was due to a common virus, his recovery was unusually slow—likely impacted by the lack of proper nutrition and hydration support at camp. The food and snacks provided were not nutritionally adequate, and hydration was not properly encouraged or monitored. For the high cost of the camp, we expected much better care and attention to the children’s basic health needs. In addition, we were uncomfortable with the emphasis on religion. Many families attending are not Christian / religious, and have no interest in excess exposure (every evening) and promotion. If the camp strongly incorporates religious elements, this should be made transparent in the marketing so families can make informed decisions.

My kids love CampOTX! Their waterpark is outstanding and they do a really great job keeping everything organized. This is our second year at camp and we plan to attend next year as well.

Camp OTX is absolutely incredible! Both of my kids have attended and loved every moment of their time there. From the wide variety of activities to the fun-filled schedule, Camp OTX offers an unforgettable week of adventure, growth, and joy. I’ve had the privilege of working as a Camp Dad and senior staff, and I can confidently say there’s no better place for kids to experience summer camp. Not only do they have the time of their lives, but they are also introduced to a strong Christian foundation that will positively shape their lives. As a former camper and staffer at Camp Ozark (14 years) in Arkansas, I was thrilled to see that Camp OTX carries the same spirit and vibrant energy—just on a smaller scale. Whether you’re sending your kids for their first camp experience or are a camp veteran, Camp OTX delivers a perfect mix of fun, faith, and friendships. Highly recommend!

Just dropped our 7-year-old for her first year at Camp. We spent the afternoon there and were one of the last to leave. We were able to get her settled in her cabin and were impressed with how well-organized and run everything was, especially on a busy day 1 with everybody arriving back to back. Clearly a well-oiled machine from Ozark, and we're happy to have something a little closer-in for her first year! Everybody from the owners to the 3 in-cabin camp counselors and multiple camp Moms were SO attentive and helpful, especially in addressing our concerns regarding application of sunscreen and making sure she stayed hydrated! The cabins have bottle filling stations inside the restrooms and private restrooms are attached to each set of 2 cabin rooms. I think the only thing that gave me concern was the temperature in the cabins was set to 74 with locked thermostat. Pretty warm this time of year and I think kids sleep better in general in colder temps so a clip-on fan is a must, thankfully the camp store sells them as well. Overall a great first camp drop off experience. We left feeling very comfortable and super excited knowing she would have an awesome experience. Will update once she gets home at the end of the week! EDITED-post camp. She had an amazing time and cried when we picked her up because she wanted to stay 2 weeks insted of just 1. The week went great on our end as well, we received daily photos of her from their activities throughout as well as a phone call from the Camp Mom to check in and let us know how things were going. She didn't come home sunburned which was one of our fears. Feedback from our daughter was that the food was great, even though she bunked with 2 friends she already knew she met a new friend too that she was so excited about, loved her Camp Counselors and said all the activities were a blast and she's looking forward to making her schedule and selecting her faves for next year. Overall it was a fantastic experience from start to finish!
