We brought our Brittany, named Ruby, to Canine Scholars in October 2024 for their two week adult board and train. Ruby was ~9 months old and we were having a lot of trouble raising and training a working dog, especially since she was also each of ours first dog! Ruby came back so well trained from Chris and the others at Canine Scholars and we genuinely had a sigh of relief. Chris has also been our go to “first responder” over the last year and a half whenever we have questions or concerns about Ruby’s training / personality / etc. With consistent training and using the techniques Chris taught us, her obedience keeps improving and it’s so fun to watch :) We’re planning to get a new puppy (another Brittany) within the next year or so and there’s no doubt we will be sending the new pup to Canine Scholars!! Owner is so rude! He makes so many comments about the client that have nothing to do with dog training. Not only that but he had my dogs shock collar almost to the max setting and traumatized my dog to the point of hiding and whimpering behind my family. I seriously can’t stand this man and would not recommend this business to anyone. My dog acts the exact same after the training and if anything is doing worse than before i brought him to this business. Only rated one star because I had to to make this review.

We can’t say enough wonderful things about our experience with Canine Scholars. Jason is knowledgeable, patient, and thorough! He helped us work through leash pulling, reactivity, and off leash training. He really took the time to understand our dog’s personality and our goals and was always patient with answering all of our questions (which there was many!). The results have been incredible and he is always willing to help when more questions come up. If you’re looking for someone who is professional, compassionate, and truly invested in your success, I highly recommend Jason. It was one of the best decisions we’ve made for our dog and our family!

We have been so happy with the board and train services our dog received with canine scholars. Pretraining, walks were getting nearly impossible due to constant pulling. Now, our dog walks perfectly with each member of our family, young kids included. The training has allowed us to include our dog in more activities making him truly a family dog and a member of our family.

Canine Scholars was recommended to me by a neighbor after I asked how and why her dog was so well behaved! Both Chris (adult training) and Michael (puppy training) trained all three of our large breed dogs. We have been very pleased with each training session. The dogs have been well taken care of, well treated and returned to us in great shape. Even though it is training and work our dogs have 'enjoyed' their time away. This is evident by the dogs excitement when they have seen Chris and/or Michael weeks/months after training for boarding. More importantly though, the dogs are returned to us well trained and we are armed with tools and tips on how to reinforce and maintain the training at home. Highly recommend!!
