I usually receive great care but today they had a provider filling in and he talked over me the entire time and I’m pretty certain he missed my illness today. He came in the room telling symptoms rather than asking what my symptoms were. I’m not pleased with my care and feel like I wasted my urgent care copay.
This was one of the worst healthcare experiences I have ever had. I initially went to CareNow Urgent Care complaining of both respiratory and UTI symptoms, including intermittent wheezing, dyspnea (shortness of breath), and chest pain. I tested negative for flu, COVID, and strep, yet I was diagnosed with a “respiratory tract infection” without any chest X-ray, sputum culture, or appropriate diagnostic evaluation. I was prescribed antibiotics only for the UTI and was given absolutely nothing to address my respiratory symptoms. I clearly reported intermittent wheezing, difficulty breathing, and chest pain, and I specifically told the provider that although I was not actively wheezing at that exact moment, my breathing issues were significantly impacting my ability to breathe and were worsening overall. Despite this, I was not prescribed an inhaler, steroids, breathing treatments, or any medication to help manage these symptoms. As my condition worsened, I attempted to call the clinic to ask whether further evaluation or a broader treatment plan was appropriate. I called approximately 13 times and no one answered. Since I could not get help by phone, I returned to the clinic in person. Despite there being no other patients waiting, I was forced to sit in the waiting room for over an hour. During that time, multiple patients who had already been in the clinic were seen and discharged, meaning exam rooms were clearly becoming available, yet I was still left waiting with no explanation or communication. The woman at the front desk was extremely rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. She had a consistently bad attitude and treated me as if I were an inconvenience rather than a patient seeking care. The RN who took my vitals was also very dismissive. When I explained again that my respiratory symptoms were worsening and that I had not been prescribed anything to help, her response was simply that she could not prescribe me anything. This was an incredibly inappropriate and unhelpful response. Of course an RN cannot prescribe medication, but telling a patient this instead of escalating concerns, advocating for further evaluation, or showing any level of empathy was careless and unprofessional. When I finally saw the PA, she repeatedly interrupted me and spoke to me in a condescending manner. I clearly stated that I understand antibiotics are not used for bronchitis and are reserved for conditions like pneumonia, which is exactly why I requested proper diagnostic testing rather than unnecessary medication. Despite this, she continued to talk over me and question my understanding instead of listening to my concerns. I was eventually given an order for a chest X-ray, but when I arrived at the imaging location, I was told that CareNow failed to provide the required documentation, creating yet another unnecessary delay. To make matters worse, while sitting in my exam room, I could clearly hear staff gossiping about another patient who was also complaining about their lack of urgency. This was highly unprofessional and inappropriate. As someone currently in the process of becoming a medical professional, witnessing this level of disrespect and absence of compassion was deeply upsetting. I left this clinic feeling dismissed, disrespected, and genuinely concerned about the quality of care being provided. I would strongly advise anyone, especially those with respiratory symptoms, to seek care elsewhere.
I could literally cry at how taken care of I feel, every single staff member in this location was so amazing, sweet and kind. made me laugh a little even when I'm not feeling my best. I truly have never had a more personable experience with ANY other medical staff at any facility! I will always come back to this urgent care if I need something! Seriously thank you thank you thank you to everyone working at this location today! even the front desk lady was amazing! I am waiting for some results so will have to see how easy the process of receiving the results & care after the results go but as of now absolutely amazing (especially compared to the mueller location)
I arrived with multiple deep and bleeding bite wounds to my wrists and was told to “tough it out” and work through the pain to fill out a bite incident report before I was attended to? Very unprofessional service. I fully understand bite documentation is required. The issue is how staff chose to handle the situation. I was in pain, struggling with mobility in both wrists, and clearly stressed. Rather than offering an alternative (having staff record my responses verbally, delaying paperwork until after cleaning wounds bleeding down my wrists, or simply showing basic empathy), I was pressured to perform through injuries. Edit: Patients in distress should not be forced to prioritize paperwork over immediate care. A healthcare provider telling an injured person to “tough it out” communicates indifference. I ended up leaving and seeking care elsewhere, where the difference was night and day. At the second clinic, staff handled the same required documentation with care and flexibility, while making sure my wounds were addressed first and treating me with kindness and decency. There are plenty of much better urgent care facilities nearby.
What a perfect way to be treated for urgent (but not fatal) care. A cut on the finger that I thought would be fine wasn’t. Every single person there was amazing and friendly. I gave fair warning that I might be a little baby but they were so gentle. The nurse was amazing and made me feel at ease and the Dr., well…she was perfect also. Explained what was going to happen and how to care for the cut and from start to finish I don’t think I was there for more than an hour. 5 stars to the team! Great job!
