Great shop, lots of cool gift ideas and personal items. Bought a good-smelling soap for myself. The woman, Aya (I think thats how you spell her name) running the shop was really kind too! Check it out!
Such a cute shop! And great customer service. Love the girls, Cora and Eilene. They were super helpful.
Always an adventure. Sometimes I go in just to decompress without intention of buying anything. Looking in shops that have so so many options calm me. You’ve got to slow down and truly look beyond what’s in front of you. I always leave having had bought something. The gals that work the rare terrific. One young woman in particular is my fav and we can get into a chat about almost anything . I love that. Today though was her last day but for all the right reasons onward and upward. Anyhow great shop . Check it out. Long Beach has some great gift shops and this one has been on 2nd Street for as long as I can remember.
My new favorite store! I could easily spend my whole paycheck in an hr here. Yesterday I purchased a candle with real amethyst crystals in it for added relaxation, let them eat cake hand cream which makes you want to eat your own fingers, a beautiful sun hat, etc. I will be back next week. This store has diverse, one of a kind pieces. I also purchased a bowl made by a local artist from sea glass 😃 The staff is lovely, the pieces can't be found elsewhere, and I promise there is something for everyone!
Though while the shop seemed welcoming from its outside appearance, I felt not only discriminated against because I was male, but also a possible race discrimination from the employees/associates that were working the registers. I was the only one within the store premises asked to store items/bags from other stores at the front desk when several families and other guests were happily perusing with their shopping bags, was constantly monitored and discouraged from browsing by associates, and felt a sense of tension between them and I with the striking glances that I was receiving. It might have been because I was a latin, have a broader and taller form, or simply because I was masculine figure that walked in by myself. But this is no excuse for discrimination of any kind. No customer or guest should feel tension or discrimination in any environment, especially to the point where they are discouraged from coming back in to shop.
