Cookie cutters was absolutely fantastic! We just took our son there for his first haircut appointment. First haircuts can be a big deal because they’re quite scary for little kids. I was so happy we made the choice to come to cookie cutters for his first because the barber was clearly a total professional at dealing with screaming crying to toddlers who are absolutely terrified of getting their haircut! The barber handled it so well! He was kind, explained everything he was doing, but was undeterred and didn’t skimp on the haircut whatsoever! Which we really appreciated. It’s pretty amazing; our kid’s haircut looks like he sat perfectly still and had a 45 minute cut! But the barber got us in and out in maybe 10 minutes flat. All around great experience. If you’re debating where to go for your baby’s first cut, or for any kid cut, DEFINITELY, come here! Bonus, they also give a little certificate with a locket of their hair and adorable picture of them post new cut.
We booked an appointment with Dannie after seeing the great reviews, and we’re so glad we did. She’s incredibly gentle and wonderful with kids. She took the time to show my son how the tools worked so he knew exactly what to expect, which helped him feel comfortable right away. Dannie was also very communicative—she asked how we wanted his haircut and made sure she fully understood before getting started. She’s easy to talk to and made the whole experience smooth and stress-free. Highly recommend her for kids’ haircuts!
It was good the kids hair was a little crooked but that is hard when kids move. I made appointments for the first haircut cuts, but she was unaware and started sweeping it all up. I had to grab it and fix it for the bag of hair that goes along with the certificate.
I was excited to go in to do my son’s first hair cut. He was doing well the first half of the cut and then started feeling uncomfortable. My son is an active kiddo. However, the stylist was just trying to get it done to go into the next client. Even through crying after half way, she kept setting super frustrated. We assumed that being that it’s a place specifically for little ones, that it would be more professional and they would have more patience. When it came to take his picture I said just give me a sec to try to calm him down and she gave me the camera to take his picture myself because she was being impatient about it. It was not a good first experience whatsoever
Everyone here was very kind and patient with my toddler. You can tell how much they care about catering to the children from tvs to balloons to fun decor and colorful & exciting salon chairs. My only complaints are that the play area was very dirty and we waited about 10-15 minutes past our appointment before my son was seen. Overall I would highly recommend this place. I drove over 45 minutes and I think it was worth it.
