Sue's art classes are wonderful! The projects she does with kids are creative and really encourage children to use their imagination and spark creative juices. Some of my kids' projects are framed and displayed in my house and guests are amazed they were made by my kids. I have been a part of Sue's classes for adults from the beginning, many years ago, and we reconnected again a year ago, after I retired. I love the opportunity to be creative, and to try new things. I had never painted before and now I have several framed paintings I am so proud of. Whatever your age, Sue is a fabulous instructor and I highly recommend her classes!!

We absolutely loved the Create Art afterschool class! My boys had such a wonderful experience — they came home excited, proud of their projects, and eager to show me everything they made. The instructor is not only incredibly talented but also patient, encouraging, and so good with kids. She creates such a warm, fun, and inspiring environment where every child feels free to explore their creativity. What I appreciate most is how she balances teaching real art techniques with giving the kids space to express themselves. My boys are already asking when they can go back! It’s such a gift to find a program that sparks both joy and confidence in children. Highly recommend to any parent looking for a positive, creative, and enriching afterschool activity.

I had an extremely disappointing experience with sending my 5 year old to Sue’s weeklong "art camp" in June 2024. From the very beginning, it felt like Sue didn’t particularly like or understand the needs of young children, and it was apparent that she lacks patience for kids who don’t follow directions perfectly all of the time. Her approach to managing the class was harsh, and her conduct toward us and other parents was unprofessional (and to my family specifically, very unkind). A particularly disturbing incident occurred on Tuesday 6/18/24 when the basement studio bathroom door got stuck. Instead of informing the parents or making alternative arrangements, Sue had the children pee in a bucket (despite having bathrooms available upstairs in her townhome). This lack of basic consideration for the children's dignity, health, or comfort is inexcusable. The worst part of the experience was when Sue informed me at 8 pm the night before the last day of camp that my child was not welcome the following day. My child had had had a wonderful first three days of camp (as Sue herself said), but struggled a bit on the fourth day. Rather than having compassion or attempting to work with my family on this, Sue made very rude and offensive comments about my child after informing me (again, at 8pm the night before the last day of camp) that our child could not return. This was not only unprofessional but also deeply hurtful, and left us scrambling for childcare with 12 hours notice. This happened even though Sue was fully aware that my younger child was undergoing treatment for brain cancer, and that I was speaking to her while in a hospital room at CHOP. Sue’s camp accepts 5-year-olds, but unrealistically expects them to behave like much older children. She even said to me, "I’m an art teacher, not a babysitter." As a parent, this is very concerning. If you run an all-day camp that includes 5-year-olds, you are necessarily providing childcare as well as giving art instruction. If Sue is not comfortable with that, she should employ additional babysitters to assist her – her camp had only one helper for a class of 15 kids, which is grossly inadequate when some of the children were as young as 5. She seemed incredibly overwhelmed even earlier in the week, but didn’t acquire more help or flag the issue with parents. Overall, this was a terrible experience. Sue’s lack of empathy, poor management, and unreasonable expectations make her camp a place I would not recommend.

Had my 31st birthday party here! We painted terracotta plant pots and they all turned out fantastic. Sue was an excellent instructor and a warm, welcoming host. Highly recommend booking her studio for an event!
