Absolutely Amazing! Had the Man soup and the broth is savory, velvety, and full of flavor!
Went for dinner. Don't blink or you'll miss it going north ound on Stockton Blvd.! Tiny hole-in-the wall place, but clean, and well maintained. Food was good not great. Both noodle dishes (ramen and udon) were a little too oily. Could have used less noodles and more veggies in the udon. The tacos were surprisingly good! Although, for the tuna taco (which was delicious) I felt there should have been a layer of tuna further down in the taco itself and not just all piled on top. Service was prompt and courteous. Atmosphere was clean and quiet. Will definitely return to try out some of their other menu items.
Food came quick and hot. Serving sizes were a small for the price. 1 sushi taco was around $10 -$12. And not that big, with not a lot of fish. No ginger or wasabi to go with it. Sodas are cans, so no refills. $2.50 for 1 can of soda is a little much. Service was good. Overall, the food was good but pricey for the a m ount you get. Spent about $80 for 3 people. 2 appetizers, 3 main dishes. Pictures make it seem larger than what it actually is. Food tasted good, I just would have preferred bigger portions for the price.
An Absolute Must-Try Hidden Gem! Just had my second visit to Engawa, and it was just as fantastic as my first. This place is truly incredible! They keep their menu small, which clearly allows them to perfect every item. Everything is crafted with care and packs a massive punch of flavor. On my first trip, I tried their ramen and udon style noodles with the takoyaki (octopus balls), and both were absolutely delicious. This time, I had to try their famous tacos. I ordered both the Taco Unagi (grilled eel) and the Taco Tuna, and they were phenomenal. The fish was unbelievably fresh and perfectly prepared. Engawa has quickly become a go-to spot for me. The food is consistently excellent, focusing on quality over quantity. If you haven't visited yet, you are missing out. I cannot recommend this place enough and I will definitely be back again soon.
I went with a friend last month in May. We came before the late lunch rush came. It was super cozy and cute. The food was really good. The salad appetizer was okay, but the chicken wings were really savory. It also a nice sweet side. I got the dry noodle and it was soo good. Its also spicy so if you're not a spice person I wouldn't recommend. My friend got the ramen which was also spicy 👌🏻👌🏻. The sushi tacos was authentically pleasing but also very messy to eat so be careful.
