We had a fantastic experience! Service is impeccable from the moment you walk in. We ordered cocktails, the Halloumi small plate, Mary’s Chicken, fries, and Branzino. Everything was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Our server was attentive without being overbearing. I have traveled through the Mediterranean, and I thought this place was fantastic. I can’t wait to bring friends for a girls night soon.
This is a new place in mid town. We had a great waitress named Chloe. She gave us a lot information and took a lot of time with us despite being the only waitress working. The food had impressive portions and perfectly seasoned. The polenta had a crisp outside and a thin crumb but creamy on inside. Pork chop was perfectly cooked despite being thick and HUGE! Had a great Zinfandel with it. I plan on returning, and recommending to friends.
I really wanted to give this place five stars, and was very hesitant to write or not, but unfortunately, our experience fell short. While the interior is clean and pleasant, the Christmas music on the background was nice, and it was surprisingly quiet and empty for a Saturday lunch, the rest was not very impressive—especially for a new restaurant in town. The restaurant feels significantly overpriced for the type of menu offered. Similar dishes can easily be found at local neighborhood Mediterranean restaurants for much less. After reading other reviews, I was honestly surprised, as the food did not reflect what I would consider authentic or high-quality Mediterranean cuisine. For diners familiar with authentic Mediterranean cuisine through travel, this meal fell far short of expectations. We were a group of six celebrating the upcoming holidays over lunch. We ordered the baby grilled octopus, fried calamari, and filet mignon and the sea bass and the dip dish. The octopus was poorly cooked and served slightly warm—it tasted as if it had simply been reheated and previously frozen. It was paired with yogurt and lentils, a combination none of us enjoyed as combination with seafood. In general, the menu featured some odd pairings, such as seafood with legumes (beans and lentils), which made it difficult to know what drink would complement the dishes. Personally, don’t think legumes are dishes to serve in an expensive restaurant. Nearly everything was spicy to some degree, which further limited balance, enjoyment, and choice of drink. The fried calamari for $23 was no better than what you’d find at a typical American restaurant under $20. Dishes like calamari and French fries that are previously frozen noticeably lower the overall quality, especially in a city like Sacramento that prides itself on farm-to-fork dining. The drinks were also disappointing. The Aperol Spritz was mostly ice, with barely any flavor from the Aperol or Prosecco. Even the glass of Prosecco I ordered afterward tasted watery. I guess it was not a good one. Food presentation was underwhelming as well—nothing memorable or thoughtfully plated. In total, I paid nearly $80 (before tip) for two appetizers: for calamari ( $23), baby octopus, an Aperol Spritz, and a glass of Prosecco ($13) , which felt excessive given the quality and experience. The salads on the menu were also unremarkable, and overall, the food did not encourage enjoying wine or cocktails alongside it. The dining layout felt crowded, with many tables placed very close together, especially in the center of the restaurant. While manageable during a quiet lunch, it’s easy to imagine the noise level becoming overwhelming when the restaurant is busy, which detracts from a fine dining atmosphere. Would we return? Probably not—unless there is a significant menu change or improvement in quality.
I'm going to have to come back to this restaurant to determine if I really like it. We brought a few bottles of our own wine as we were celebrating our friends birthday. My main dish was just okay, as nothing really knocked my socks off so to speak. I did enjoy the meatballs amd the calamari as an appetizer. I ordered the steak, broccolini and potatoes. My husband ordered a vegetarian pasta dish that he said was good but it was salty. If you order the cheese sandwich please note it's really salty. I missed that notation on the menu, and I could only have one bite of it due to the high salt content. The ambiance and the appetizers was the highlight for me. I'll come back for appetizers and drinks.
This place was so nice! I've been really wanting a place like this. It's moody, it's upscale, it's a total vibe! My husband and I came in on a Thursday night for an overdue and much needed date night, they had live music, which really set the tone. We had mocktails and appetizers and everything was really good. Our server Ashley was so nice and attentive to us the whole time we were here and gave us such great recommendations. A lot of the food is made in house and it shows because everything tasted fresh. I definitely plan on coming back, especially because they have live music every Thursday, so we got really lucky to have this experience! Over all I recommend this to anyone looking to dress up and have your man spoil you on a lovely date night! 💋
