This is a underrated hidden gem of the Northside. Sashimi was fantastic as-well as the Miso soup. Would definitely recommend the lunch bento that is available from 11:30-3:30pm. Only critique is the sushi is smaller than expected (bite size) but tasted good.
Location was nice, and hidden from busy streets. Interior/Ambiance (4/5) Service was reasonable. (5/5) We ordered Sushi Sahimi combo (4/5) Gintaro Sushi (4/5) Grilled Squid (3/5) just bit lacking of flavor. Wasabi (3/5) wishing it was more spicier. Overall its a nice place.
As a native Japanese, this place has pretty decent food. I ordered Tonkotsu Ramen and it tasted just like authentic Japanese Ramen unlike other places that put chicken strips ( yuck ) they had chashu, boiled eggs and spinach. One disappointment was Sushi. In Japan if I order individual sushi ( for example maguro sushi ) usually comes with 2 pcs but this place only gave me 1 pc of tiny sushi with less rice. I understand in Alberta, sushi is expensive, but I wouldn't order $4 for one tiny sushi next time. But the quality was great. The service was ok. there were two servers at 11:30 am on Xmas eve, they were nice but if you are expecting a Keg type of small talk, they are not gonna do that. they will serve you food, and take away food, that's it. But as a Japanese I am used that type of service so it didn't bother me that much. Overall, I think its one of the best in the north Edmonton and we will come back to this place especially if we want good Ramen, Tempura, and a little bit of Sushi!
Best Sushi ever. Visiting from Florida. Looked for places to eat. Will come back again when visiting family. We got a lot to get leftovers.
The sushi was excellent 👍 and so was the service! We had a large group that ordered many different rolls and everything came in tasting fresh and delicious 👌
