I am so happy that globe is open again. After being closed for a while. They have done a great job with the remodeling and looks like the right people are running this place now. One more great thing happened in this block that there is a new Indian restaurant right next-door to the globe theater. Best lunch buffet and then show next door. Can’t ask for more.
Memory and nostalgia has me wanting to love this place but there are a few quirks intrinsic to the venue. Regardless of why you're at the Globe, if you intend to smoke then you'll be relegated to an open air corridor that is maybe 10 feet wide by 50 feet long. The patch of sky is forever in shadow, sandwiched between the Globe and a neighboring building. Then there is a matter of space and whether the mezzanine is was available for use. This all depends on the show or event that chose the Globe. With the mezzanine there are ample seats and a voyeuristic vibe that somehow speaks to the character of the building. It also provides ample seating for the fatigued feet. If the mezzanine isn't included with the venue offerings for any given event, then you may feel like you're getting swindled or cheated; you totally are... No seating makes for a lackluster experience and diminishes the event while also potentially making for a shorter time at the event due to tired feets. Should that event also run late, well then you certainly can expect to miss out doubly so. This was the scenario recently and my foul mood from poor decisions of the event are reflected on the venue. Both could do a better job. eg. Clearly marking the restrooms with lighted signs where they're hidden behind sliding doors with a dark plaque is a shadowy area is another faltering fault of the venue.
Came here for a wrestling show. The security and staff were cool and efficient. Parking was easy. There are dozens of parking lots/garages within a quarter mile of the Globe. We parked about 3/4 streets over, it was a quick 4/5min walk to the Globe.
I went there Becasue of Oddities Flea Market. tbh I’m not very feeling it, the theatre kinda small, very narrow inside, the air is stuffy. The art show is okay, but only like 30+ vendors, not worth it for $25 per person. Plus I have to pay $15 for parking at a hilarious building, and it’s ghetto.
First time going here and it is very much worth attending for a week rave. Access to VIP is a nice bonus but I don't think it's really needed. We came here for Tokyo Machine show and he killed it here. There is also a boba bar that is alcoholic and lots of sexy cosplay dancers. It's great to be here. I connected with a few attendees and even made a couple new friends!
