First time to Melbourne and I heard how great the coast was. I looked up tours that Melbourne offers and popped up was the Great Ocean tour. I had one of the best experience. Also I had the best tour guide Graeme. I defently recommend this tour for the scenery, history, laughs, and music. They also offer a other tours with different spots. The tour I did was the Great Ocean Tour Road Small-group ECO from Melbourne.
Meeting Go West Tours on a long, full-day tour was truly a stroke of luck. I’ve traveled to many countries and joined countless tours, and this one easily ranks among the very best. (I even heard from other travelers that this company comes highly recommended within Australia as well.) From the very beginning, I felt at ease thanks to the warm check-in and the guide’s clear, easy-to-understand English. The group size—around 20 people—was perfect and easy to manage. The meeting times were clearly shown on a whiteboard, there was Wi-Fi on the bus (a bit spotty, but still appreciated), and the explanations were clear, well-structured, and straight to the point. Add to that well-chosen music during the drives, well-balanced meal and tour timings, and exciting wildlife spotting—it was simply perfect. What truly elevated the entire experience was our guide, James A—his humor, positive energy, and excellent judgment and leadership made all the difference. I’d also like to thank our amazing driver (with the cutest smile), who skillfully spotted wildlife, carefully avoided them when needed, and got us around safely until late at night. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who turned one precious day into such a memorable and wonderful experience.
The photos don’t do this tour justice. The great ocean road is absolutely gorgeous and worth getting up early in the morning for the long drive. Matt communicated clearly and everything ran smoothly despite having to do the reverse course due to recent flooding. The helicopter 🚁 add-on was spectacular but also our first helicopter ride so we were wowed. There were other Go West tours running concurrently so we had the benefit of additional traffic reporting from the other drivers.
Such an amazing day! We had Jacqui who was the friendliest, most welcoming tour guide and expert photographer. We did the day trip with Phillip island and the cutest penguins. I would highly recommend going with this tour rather than going on your own, Jacqui is super knowledgeable and even though I was solo, I had the best time as part of the bus family.
We joined the Great Ocean Road tour and the Penguin Parade on Phillip Island. Both journeys were wonderful from the very start. We booked the tours in person at the Little Collins Street office, where the staff member was patient and friendly. For those who prefer paying in cash, this is a convenient option—just be mindful of the opening hours and the storefront. It doesn’t display “Go West” clearly, so we were a bit confused at first about where to enter. As for the tours, our Great Ocean Road guide, Sherif, was incredibly knowledgeable and talented. He’s also an excellent photographer with a sharp eye for great shots and wildlife. We even spotted a koala along the way. He shared interesting stories, helpful food tips, and advice on the best photo spots. Lucy, our guide for the Penguin Parade, was very sweet and kind. She had extensive knowledge of wildlife, especially birds and marsupials, and shared exciting adventure stories. It was wonderful to learn not only about the cute animals but also about Aboriginal culture. Overall, both tours were fantastic and highly recommended!
