I have consigned many items here but never walked away with a warm feeling in my heart. The outward image is about social/eco responsibility but the selling and buying experience doesn’t match that. The items for sale are not curated or cared for, often in poor condition, missing buttons, etc. Lots of fast fashion in the mix - perhaps Canberra just doesn’t have the volume of quality pieces bigger cities have.
Very unfriendly and unhelpful customer service. I'm not asking to be fawned over when I come into a shop, but I also don't like being made to feel like I'm unwelcome
Visited this shop today & so happy as got the most beautiful jacket at an affordable price, something I normally couldn’t afford. The beautiful young staff member she was so kind & helpful.. I’ll definitely visit again when I’m in Canberra again.
Great selection of clothes, but the staff often come across as unfriendly and rude, like they don’t want customers to be there or to ever come back. I also had a frustrating experience trying to consign clothes. Everything I brought was rejected for being either blue denim (which they said they had too much of) or from massmarket brands. Yet every time I visit the store, I see items from H&M, Sportsgirl, or Champion on the racks. Another issue is that some clothes have stains or holes, but they’re still priced without any consideration of the faults. While I understand it’s hard to offer discounts due to the consignment model, I think items should be better inspected, priced more fairly, and clearly marked if they have any damage.
There's a decent range of curated, pre-loved items here - I like that they try not to stock the bigger fast fashion labels. I'd give a 5-star review if it weren't for the fact that on 9/10 visits, I am completely ignored by the staff. Not asking for a deep and meaningful interaction, just a 'hi' and the barest acknowledgement of my existence. It makes me feel unwelcome, especially given that it isn't a matter of staff being busy or with other customers at the time.
