Posting on behalf of my mother, Juliette. Absolutely stunning work refinishing the bedroom pieces she had them work on. From afar the pieces look brand new, and up close the attention to detail and love for HM's trade shows. This is 100% the place to bring your furniture to if you want it done right the first time at very fair pricing. Customer service and communication was excellent from start to finish. Give these talented people your business - you won't regret it.
This was a great experience. They refinished a dining table with a lead for me. Not only does it look brand new, it was done in a very timely fashion considering the big job it is. They were communicative about status when I checked and they were very friendly. I recommend them.
I recently brought to Marlene and Steve my 3 piece bedroom set - armoire and 2 night stands. They were very dated looking and I wanted a more current look with a light bright paint job that would be very durable. I had 3 options; Option 1 buy all new pieces, but the quality was poor and prices were exhoribitant for something that would look fine for a brief time and then deteriorate like junk. Option 2 - paint it myself, but I don't have a spray booth or the skills to do a quality paint job on furniture. Option 3 - have a professional furniture painter provide a light, modern and durable paint job. Marlene and Steve helped me to access the quality of my furniture to determine its value. After realizing it was worthwhile to have it re-painted, they meticulously painted with a high quality lacquer (paint I don't have access to) for duration. Several coats, and it looks AMAZING. They have a professional dedicated spray booth that not all re-furnishers have. They took the time to inquire about my vision and what goal I wanted to achieve. I firmly believe it is better and cheaper to buy quality furniture, and keep it maintained for the long run. Thank you Marlene and Steve for your dedication to my furniture.
We took our Early 1900’s family bench in to Harvest Moon to be refinished. It was in very rough shape so it had to be fully restored first. Steve’s craftsmanship in restoring and refinishing the bench was amazing, but even more impressive was the amount of genuine care he took in completing the project. We absolutely love how the bench turned out and will now be able to pass it down as a treasured part of our family history for many more years ahead!
I can’t say enough good things about Steve and Marlene! In today's world, it’s refreshing to do business with people that do what they say they’re going to do and deliver on their promises. Steve is an absolute gem of a guy! And his craftsmanship speaks for itself. He’s a true artist. I’m convinced that his skin is permanently part stain and sawdust at this point. My husband really has an emotional connection to his old family, 80’s, childhood, beat up, ugly orange oak kitchen table. Me, not so much. We were moving into a new house, and after much discussion, decided to keep it, refinish it and update it with new chairs. We also had an old teak bench that was the typical red/orange color, also pretty beat up, that we wanted refinished. We couldn’t be happier with how they both turned out! I fretted about stain color- Steve made sure it was perfect with me before going ahead with it. He fixed the bench without being asked (we didn’t realize it needed it) and the table looks SO amazing. And they got both done on a pretty tight time crunch in time for Xmas! In this economy, I would much rather pay a local company like Harvest Moon to update our old, well built furniture than pay a fortune for garbage made from pressboard overseas. I honestly had so much fun going into the shop to check in, checking out the stain and just chatting with Steve and Marlene. They are such good people, and run a great business.
