Our experience started off well as I had called to have some water damage to our carpet assessed. Carlton was helpful when I was dealing with the insurance company. Once installation day came it went downhill from there. Crew shows up and on day one spills a large amount of glue on the carpet. Left for the day and didn’t tell us. I called Carlton and he tried to remove it. Obviously it was ruined but the crew tried to cut the piece out and use another. It obviously didn’t work well because the carpet had a pattern to it so it didn’t line up properly. Once the install was done we noticed the overall install was terrible/unacceptable (see pics). We decided to change it out to a different carpet we felt would be easier for them to install. We also noticed they broke the light in our stairwell and didn’t tell us. Carlton did credit us for the light. Second crew shows up to replace the carpet. They started on Friday and didn’t show up on Saturday. I texted Carlton and he said sorry they were supposed to text you. They finished the project and did a good job however, they scratched our new couch going through the doorway. Prior to the first install I had taken pictures of all the furniture and showed this to Carlton. His response was sorry we are not a moving company and offered NO solution for the couch. But, they charge $200 per room to move furniture! Due to the work quality of the company I would absolutely not recommend. Being this company has been around so long,I expected more from them. Absolutely loved my experience with the Hicks family. Carlton was very kind and fair with his pricing. Sydney was absolutely amazing to deal with for billing and she answered all of my questions that I had! I would absolutely recommend them if you are looking for carpet work, re-doing your floors and or any tile and hardwood floor work! They also have connections if you are looking to do more than just your floors at your house!
I highly recommend Hicks Flooring for all of your flooring needs. Carlton, Larry and Staff guided us through the flooring replacement process from start to finish. The flooring replacement team of Rubin and Sevarro did an outstanding job of prepping the rooms and advising us about the process and getting our carpet/LVP laid in a timely manner. We were blessed to have these two working in our home. Great job all around! 👍🏼👍🏼
Carlton was amazing. Not only pleasant to work with but patient, had ideas and suggestions, was prompt etc. Install went just as described. Overall just a very pleasant experience
Our house is 24 years old and it was time to do some upgrades. Like other posts we worked with Carlton Hicks and the experience was fantastic. We found the floor we wanted and the install started about a week later. For us this was a big job. We removed tile from an entry way and kitchen, old laminate from the den, and carpet from the living room and replaced it with vinyl flooring. It only took a few hours to remove all of that and then Carlton's team took over. I don't know if it's appropriate to mention the two installer's names but they were awesome. Respectful, considerate of our needs, willing to make minor changes, etc. Simply two great guys. They took their time and did it right the first time. I cleaned the floor yesterday and it's perfect. If you look at the fireplace picture carefully you can see they cut under the brick and slid the new flooring into the cut. This probably took two hours because they had to start over since they wanted it perfect. You should expect and receive this level of detail and care. We have had a number of installs over the years and we could not be happier. On a side note, the shutters are from Katy Plantation Shutters and they too did a great job. We like to support local businesses so it's nice that now that it's done, we can highly recommend both of them.
