I live and work in the area. Amazing service, Blessed was our host and welcomed us. She was so sweet and explained the menu to us perfectly. The Kara miso is 10/10. I had the honor of meeting the owner, she was attentive and checked on us frequently. I enjoyed my first experience here and will be back!!
I dined for lunch between 12:30pm - 1:00pm, food came out quick and was hot. Very easy to find, parking is a different story. Restaurant was clean, as well as the bathroom. You should at least give this place one try and then go from there! Staff :08/10 = Professional and Respectful. Food: 08/10 = I could taste all of the different seasoning. Price: 07/10 = They have a lunch menu priced differently.
staff :10/10 professional and respectful food: 4/10. I don’t like some of their foods price: 2/10. foods are pricey. very small slice of cake cost $8.
First let me start off by saying the service was really good. Tan was amazing. He was anticipatory and really kind. But that’s where the good stops. The fried oyster was terrible. I think I’m going to get food poisoning in a few hours because it tasted like it went bad. 0 seasoning and 60 percent batter and 40 percent oyster. Takoyaki was okay. It’s the same across DFW since most restaurants get it from the same supplier frozen. Super mushy since you can’t fry it for long or it will pop. The pork and onion skewer was probably the best thing we had today. Super simple with a sauce similar to a donkatsu sauce. The ramen was insanely expensive compared to the quality received. Noodles were really dense and had quite a bite to it. The bamboo tasted like it came straight from a can. Pork chashu was thin cut and extremely dry. I couldn’t even finish the ajitama egg. Even Jinya (which I don’t even like) has 2x better quality for the same price. I feel like charging $17 for this should be a crime. The Kaisen Don was the worst part of it all. The fish/shimi tasted and looked like they just bought it down the street at HEB/Kroger and slapped it on rice and charged $14 for it. My girlfriend couldn’t even eat the tuna since it was so fishy. I tried the hamachi to give it a judge and it was terrible. It should have a bite since it’s a leaner white fish. It just melted like it was frozen and full of water. If you are charging exorbitant prices for food like this, I expect quality craftsmanship and care. Not a frozen food paradise. I’m extremely disappointed since I was looking forward to trying this place out, but upon trying the food I don’t think I’ll be back.
Tried the R1 and R2 noodles plus the unagi rice bowl. The unagi was tasty, but $14 for such a small portion felt overpriced. The noodles had a nice chewy texture, but they were much saltier than expected, even at the “regular” salt option. Service was friendly and attentive, but maybe a little too much; we were checked on multiple times and even asked if we wanted the bill while still eating. Overall, the place feels new and clean, the staff is polite, but the flavors are just okay and the prices are closer to what you’d see in Downtown Dallas.
