Zero stars! This is by far the worst mechanic shop in all of San Antonio! My 89 year old dad drop off a truck for transmission and breaks. Took 3 months to get truck back. Breaks not fixed but charged for! 2 weeks later converters broke and he took it back only to have truck stuck there for a year! My Dad paid more than was asked and was promised a refund that never came! This guy is a liar,a cheater, thief and will simply take your money and do crap work! Avoid this place at all costs!
Mr. Juan, is such a honest and trustworthy mechanic. He did mine and my son's transmission. He did such a great job. He guarantees his work. I truly recommend if you have transmission problems take your card to him. He will get the job done. Thank you Juan.
Juan and his staff offered an astonishing experience. As a matter of fact he surprised us do to when we 1st called we got no answer but he called us back after we left no message. Through out the whole process he was honest and straight forward. He didn't pressure us into any decision and fully explained all recommendations. Soon as we agreed to the work he started calling for parts. He provided a time frame and it was meet. I have no complaints with the quality of work that was provided. In fact I was so appreciative of his team I bought them a case of beer.
WARNING: DO NOT TAKE YOUR TRUCK HERE I brought my truck to JV Transmission on June 16th due to a serious transmission issue (downshifting from 6th to 1st gear). The owner, Juan Vega, diagnosed it as a valve body and conductor plate failure and recommended a full transmission rebuild to prevent further problems. He quoted a 1-week turnaround and required a $1,925 deposit for parts — which I paid (proof attached), with the remainder due upon completion. By July 7th — three weeks past the promised completion date — the truck was still not ready. Every time I called, I was told it would be done “tomorrow,” or that a part was missing. These were blatant lies. Frustrated, we began recording our conversations to hold Juan accountable. By July 14th — nearly a month later — the truck still wasn't fixed. We told Juan to either finish the job or return the truck so we could take it elsewhere. He promised it would be ready the next day. On July 21st, after Juan again claimed the truck would be ready, my wife and I arrived at the shop to find him absent, the truck on a lift, and blocked in. His employees pretended not to know his whereabouts or have a way to reach him. We had to involve the police to even get access to our vehicle. Only after police arrived did they lower the truck — and we discovered the transmission was in pieces and dumped in the bed. After six weeks and $1,925, I was left with an unusable truck and a disassembled transmission. DO NOT TRUST THIS SHOP. Further investigation revealed JV Transmission already has an active small claims case (proof below), and we plan to pursue legal action as well.
