I had a great experience and great cut at Jake’s. I don’t leave local, so I wasn’t aware how busy it was and that you’d usually have to book. However, the team extended me a red carpet and showed 5 stars hospitality from the first minute. Which for someone in desperate need of cut and short on time was perfectly convenient. They have a nice dynamic there, with a trendy ambiance and a young capable team. The Barber manager seems incredibly capable and floats across to all clients to make sure they’re all getting the same high standards of cut they deliver all around. I noticed how busy the place was, by the sheer flow of people in and out for cuts that was constant. My haircut, in itself was great, exactly like the picture I had previously shown and I liked the fact it wasn’t rushed, so you get a feel you’re well looked after. I’ve saved this place to google maps as my choice for a cut next time I’m in Birmingham and highly recommend it.
Absolute legends. Colin cuts my hair and does such a great job. Lovely atmosphere when you come in. Friendly chat and reasonable pricing. Couldn’t recommend a better place if you’re looking for something better than Turkish barbers.
I've been getting my haircuts at Jake's since 1999 when I discovered the barbershop hidden behind St. Paul's Bar (at the time, now The Rectory) in St Paul's Square on the edge of the Jewellery Quarter. I'll let my hair go to detriment before I'll try another barber! Cool decor, great magazines and two of the best barbers in Brum, Colin and Gary!
