A little over a month before Halloween, I needed someone to make my Halloween dress. I looked on Google and saw Julia’s Design and Alterations 5 stars. I called and explained the situation to Julia. I had the fabrics and the patterns and she was kind to let me know it was do able. The price was right and I said yes!! After calling half of Miami trying for someone to make the Queen costume, I found this place. Thank God. I got there and she was so kind and amazing. She gave the job to Romulo who is a superb tailor. They made my dress faster than a blink of an eye but not only that, the dress was spectacular. The photos do not make it justice. Romulo put more flair into it, much more than I imagined. His ideas made a huge difference on the sleeves. A couple of days later, I saw the final product and it was much much better than I anticipated. I was the Queen of the Night at the Halloween parties thanks for Julia and Romulo and won one contest even! A basket of goodies. In summary, I’d definitely comeback for future Halloween costumes. Choose this place, you won’t be sorry.
Julie took really good care of me to ensure my clothes were tailored to fit exactly like I wanted them. Everyone there was really nice and work really fast. I am still learning how to communicate in Spanish, but I enjoyed the opportunity to practice and Julie and I were able to understand each, I will definitely be bringing all my future alterations here❤️ ¡muchos gracias tia Julie! A couple of months ago, I was searching for someone to alter my wedding dress. After visiting several bridal shops and receiving quotes that were way beyond my budget, I came across Julie’s Designs and Alterations. The glowing reviews from other brides gave me hope and I’m so glad I followed through! From the moment I walked in, Julie was warm, professional, and incredibly skilled. My mom, who speaks Spanish and lives in Chicago, came with me to the appointment, and she and Julie instantly connected. Julie even ended up altering my mom’s dress for the wedding too! Julie worked magic on my gown, tailoring it to fit my body perfectly. One of the highlights was a last minute addition, I had seen a pearl bracelet on Instagram that could be added to the train to keep it off the ground during portraits (before bustling), and Julie added it flawlessly. It was the perfect touch! Her pricing was fair and reasonable, I highly recommend Julie’s shop to any bride looking for expert alterations, thoughtful service, and a genuinely lovely experience.
Super happy with Julia’s work. We came in, they did measurements right away, and the next day my alterations were done. Super happy with the alterations and the work she did on my daughter’s scrubs. Julia and her team very very attentive and sweet. It was an amazing experience overall and will definitely be coming back. Recommend 1000000%
Julie and Ramon worked so hard on my wedding dress, worked fast, and were very detail oriented and wanted everything to be perfect for me! They made me a dress from scratch at a super reasonable and affordable price. The veil I had also broke and they fixed it. 3 weeks before my wedding I had a last minute venue change, and the dress I originally bought would be super out of place at the new venue. I decided adding a skirt would be the best solution but nothing online would get to me on time AND fit. I went to Julie’s with inspo pics, my mother in law, and a wedding that was rapidly approaching. Julie designed and interpreted my vision and Ramon built the detachable skirt from scratch! My request was very technically difficult and we had to meet for fittings several times in order to get it right but Julie and Ramon were diligent and determined. They were willing to put in serious work and it really paid off— they made my dream a reality! They are true artists and are very customer oriented. I am so grateful for the work they did! My family was so amazed that the skirt was detachable because it looked so cohesive with my original dress. They are the only ones I trust now!
