There are no words to describe how incredible Kathy is! Our Alfie was displaying increased reactivity (by jumping and nipping us when overwhelmed) to the point where I could not take him for a walk by myself and was struggling to support him to settle within our home environment. By using a positive-reinforcement approach and considering all factors very holistically when explaining our pup’s behaviours and introducing strategies, Kathy made a tremendous difference and we are so happy with how much our pup has improved! Kathy is always calm and understanding of our concerns, and we especially appreciate how attentive she is by following up on our sessions with check-in messages and tailoring strategies if needed. Kathy also knows that training is not just about the dog but the owners too. She went as far as to come over to our house to instruct my family members on how to best support our Alfie’s training – and I can definitely say that there is a newfound peace in our home after her help. We would recommend anyone to Kathy in a heartbeat 💙
Kathy helped us with Cookie’s reactivity and from the very first session, it was clear she truly understood Cookie. She could read her behaviour so accurately and explained everything in a way that helped us understand Cookie better and manage her reactivity with confidence. With each session, Cookie improved. By the second and third sessions, Cookie was calmer around Kathy’s huskies and for the first time, she was able to be in the same space without barking. I cried tears of joy seeing that moment. Her reactivity became more manageable and even her separation anxiety at home improved. Sadly, our sessions ended after Cookie passed away in a freak accident. Even then, Kathy continued to support us during our deepest grief. If you are struggling with a reactive dog, I highly recommend Kathy. She is professional, intuitive, and genuinely cares.
Cannot recommend Kathy enough! She really helped us with our reactive dog. Our little doggie didn’t like people at all, we went from not being able to walk down the street to calmly waiting out the front of Coles with no worries. Kathy is incredibly knowledgeable and teaches in such a kind and respectful manner. Worth every dollar!
We went to Kathy for assistance to help us with our reactive kelpie pup Euki who had stumped us with her barking. We could tell she was acting in complete fear; from her perspective it was like every dog and human was out to get her when in reality they were just minding their own business! We were completely stuck on how best to help her. Kathy absolutely saved the day! Kathy conducted appointments at her home and provided thorough, hands on, compassionate advice on how we could best help her to realize the outside world wasn’t as scary as it seemed. Before we felt overwhelmed walking her along footpaths, and now she has made so much progress, to the point where we consistently walk her along footpaths and I try and pick busier spots to increase her exposure. This wouldn’t have been possible without Kathy’s help, her beautiful four legged friends, and her supporting us through the progress. If you are reading this it is likely that you are toying with the idea of seeking help, and if you are, look to no further and speak to Kathy, you won’t regret it! I’ve seen a lot of improvement with my dogs. Kathy is a great, enthusiastic trainer, not only for my dogs but also for myself. She is very knowledgeable and makes sure to understand you and your dog’s situation before your sessions. Not all dog training is “one size fits all” which Kathy truely understands. Kathy’s training is also ethical and does not use harsh training methods such as E-collars and lead pops which was important to me. We had the opportunity to work directly with 5-7 different huskies of different genders and energies. It was very beneficial being able to have other dogs involved in our session. We have been given the skills we need to manage our dog’s reactivity, but I will definitely be coming back to gain more knowledge in the future. The price drops significantly after your initial sessions which allows you to get more help if you need. Overall Kathy is the best trainer we’ve seen.
