Kinya is a fantastic new ramen spot in Durham, and our book club of 13 had an amazing time here! We reserved the karaoke room (we didn't sing, just used it as a private space), and it was perfect for our group — plenty of room to spread out, chat about our book without bothering others, and enjoy the meal in peace. I ordered the Wonton Ramen, and it was outstanding: the broth was seasoned perfectly, the golden noodles were cooked just right (chewy but not overdone), and I loved the fish cakes and that soft boiled egg — such great touches! For a drink, the Mango Mai Tai hit the spot — sweet, refreshing, loaded with coconut rum and tons of fresh mango flavor. The restaurant itself is clean, bright, and beautifully decorated with a modern Japanese vibe that feels welcoming and upscale without being stuffy. The staff was super friendly, and our waitress Emili was top-notch — attentive, helpful, and made the whole experience even better. Everyone in our group loved what they ordered, and the menu has lots of great choices (ramen, sushi, appetizers, and more). Prices felt like excellent value for the quality and portion sizes. We're already planning our next book club here — highly recommend Kinya for groups, date nights, or just a delicious ramen fix. We'll definitely be back! 🍜✨
The places very welcoming, as soon as we walked in they said hi in Japanese. And then they sat us immediately and everything was clean and people around were enjoying their food and smiling. The food was amazing. The menu has a lot of really great options in it. We definitely plan to come back again! My brother had the Beef Ramen, our mom had the Poke Chashu Bowl, and I had the Salmon Love. I tried theirs, and the quality was perfect, and the taste was amazing. Mine was also fresh and filling. Triple A++!
The atmosphere is so good! Beautiful interior design. As for the food, the ramen was delicious. Nicely seasoned broth, and the meat was tender. I love that the meal came with kimchi! My husband loved the poke bowl as well.
We went for dinner, on a cold and rainy night. The atmosphere was relaxing, with the decor being beautiful. The staff was inviting and kind. The food was absolutely amazing! Yes, they are brand new (as of October 28, 2025), so there are a few hiccups, but they still did an amazing job! We can't wait to go back! We tried the Kinya Ramen and the broth was really good and not really salty like a lot of ramen broths are. We also tried the trio of sushi tacos. What a fun way to present sushi! Comfort was our server and she was very nice. Janet, the general manager, was so happy to see us! She even gave me a tour of the space, showing me their fun celebration room, with a karaoke machine and lights that react to the music! Overall it was an enjoyable evening!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Fantastic lunch at Kinya in Durham! We stopped by Kinya for lunch and had such a great experience. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, and our server David took excellent care of us—friendly, attentive, and made great recommendations. We ordered the Tonkatsu Ramen, Shrimp Tempura Ramen, King Salmon Belly Nigiri, and Takoyaki. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The ramen broths were rich and comforting, and the sushi melted in our mouths. The Takoyaki was so good I forgot to take a picture before eating—it comes with six pieces, and every bite was amazing! Kinya is a wonderful new addition to Durham’s dining scene—definitely worth visiting for lunch or dinner!
