Flew in from Texas and I had the pleasure of dining in their downstairs area—comfortable, beautiful, and cozy. I believe I was serviced by Cole and Victoria (I apologize if the names are incorrect) and they were a delight and so happy to help. The cucumber sunomono was fresh and had a slight spice to it. The Chashu Pork Bao Buns were soft and tender and the yuzu slaw was probably the best part! And for dessert, my favorite was the Ube Banana Pudding — I can’t even describe how happy that made me. I do slightly wish there was a bit more nilla wafer in it but that’s not a big deal to me at all. For drinks, I had the #16 and #12. While they were both delicious, #12 is especially unique for the sweet drink lovers; the kiwi foam is an absolute standout. Overall, would come here again if I visit nashville in the future!
We found Kosho on a whim and we are so glad we did. From the moment we walked in we felt welcomed. The wait staff were kind, knowledgeable and guided us through the process perfectly. We ordered Shabu and absolutely were blown away with how amazing it was. Every ingredient was fresh and delicious! The Shabu process was also a fun interactive way to have dinner. We finished the meal with the most amazing banana pudding I’ve ever had. Every bite of food was spectacular. This is a MUST try in Nashville !
We loved this place. The seared hamachi and salmon crudo starters were the highlight. Garlic noodles with shrimp, mushrooms and shabu I would get again. Would skip the yakitori chicken and try lamb next time. Short rib shabu was shareable considering all the other hot items we ordered. Service was attentive and friendly at the kitchen bar. Quality of the meats as expected. I've been to their San Diego locations and the quality here was just as good. They have QR codes for partial parking validation in the lot next door and across the street. $10 to park for 2 hours want terrible. Metropolis owned lot and they are criminals so be careful. If there is street parking on the adjacent street grab that.
Food was good, but the service was terrible. Our server was very forgetful, and he was a bit rude near the end of our visit since we had to ask to get the spicy tuna don removed from the check because I could hardly eat it and had to send it back. It was way too spicy. For the food, the salmon crudo and seared hamachi are good options, but the waygu short rib was chewy. The pork bao are decent, nothing too special. I was surprised since this place is rated so highly, and I don’t plan on coming back.
4.2/5! The service was really good. Our server was fun and gave us plenty of recommendations. Really nice space with a Yoshimoto Nara picture on the wall, loved that touch. I got the #9 drink to start and then the sake juice box which was adorable. The star of the night probably was the salmon crudo, so delicious and fresh! We got the wagyu short rib for hotpot and the portion of the meat was perfect along with the served sides. (Also our server gave us what l believe was a chili oil sauce and it elevated and complimented the meat a lot.) My only critic is that I wish that the hot pot being only at the bar was a little bit more advertised. Initially I didn't realize that you only get hotpot if you pick to sit at the Shabu counter when I made the reservation. Thankfully I decided to look at the menu at that's when I actually realized so maybe a rookie mistake but that could've been frustrating if I hadn't went back to look at the menu. So just something to keep in mind! I will be back to try more. :)
