Enrolling our 6-year-old at Kyudo Shuho Karate Academy in Fyshwick was one of the best decisions we've made. The atmosphere is incredibly welcoming, with a friendly team and truly great instructors who make every class a positive experience. Love Sensei Mel and her team. We have seen a noticeable improvement in our daughter, not just in her karate skills but also in her confidence and discipline. She genuinely has fun at every session and always looks forward to going. The school holiday program is fantastic and keeps her engaged, and the one-on-one sessions have been invaluable for helping her refine specific techniques. My child loves her classes, and it’s clear why this is such a fantastic school.
We were initially exposed to the Dojo through a birthday party, my eldest joined, then youngest and both really enjoy it. The team are all very friendly, professional and kind, all abilities are welcomed. A great combination of physical training along with values.
Great family Dojo. A high recommendation if you have little ones who need to get their energy out, build confidence in themselves or respect for others. I personally attend the adults class which is very welcoming to people of all abilities and ages.
My son loves going to karate, the sensei and sempai are amazing, caring and happy to help each child reach their full potential. My daughter doesn't do karate but loves watching her brother and has even picked up some self defence/safety things from watching classes. Having the choice to do classes in the gungahlin area or in Fyshwick has been perfect for our family. Could not recommend kyodo shuho karate academy more highly.
We could not speak more highly of Mel and her team at Kyodo Shuho Karate. We’ve been taking our kids there for two years now and from the first visit our experience has been amazing. Karate lessons have done so much to help teach our kids discipline, determination and commitment and it’s a great activity mid week and on weekends. The school holiday programs that Mel runs are amazing and our kids get so excited when we tell them they’re going to be doing the holiday program - which is not the case with every activity we do in the school holidays! If you are on the fence about enrolling your kids I would absolutely recommend giving it a go.
