We have been taking our daughter to Lana’s studio for years. We went through three other instructors who could not teach or motivate our daughter before finding Lana. She has an amazing knowledge of music and is passionate about teaching. Thank you Lana!
Ms Lana is a wonderful music teacher. I had intially called her for piano lessons for my daughter, but since my daughter was still too young we took her advise to wait. However, she was so affable and passionate about music that I ended up signing up for lessons. Piano is something I always wanted to play and I am glad I found Ms Lana as my teacher. She mixes theory with music related anecdotes making the lessons interesting and memorable. She is funny and yet maintains professionalism at all times. As a student, I would get frustrated at times, but not her. She is patient, kind, encouraging, but also sincere. As an adult beginner in music, I would highly recommend her music classes.
Lana has taught both my son and daughter how to play piano. She is kind and patient but also no-nonsense. Her approach to teaching kids how to play piano is methodical and works amazingly well! They learn how to read music, how to feel rhythms, and also how to love what they are learning. I am so appreciative of what she has done for my kids! She is worth every penny!
If you want to learn piano, Lana is the teacher you're looking for. From the moment you step into her studio, you understand that you've entered a magical place. Lana greets you with a friendly smile as her schnauzers welcome you in their own language. (Perhaps later they'll sing along with Tarantella Napoletana.) Beautiful homemade paintings cover the walls, and cheery plants brighten every available surface. It's a nest of warmth, creativity, and life. The vitality of the space is matched only by Lana herself. As an instructor, she is kind, skilled, and deeply passionate about her work. In my lessons as a 28-year-old beginner, I've enjoyed learning how thirds are like "ladies going shopping" and how pedaling is like "catching a fish". When I make mistakes, Lana gently corrects me with an expert blend of warmth and firmness. You can tell she's been teaching for a while! She approaches every concept with a sense of fun, and every lesson feels both useful and enjoyable. More than anything else, though, Lana has that indescribable quality that separates an extraordinary teacher from an ordinary one. You can't measure it with something as sterile as numbers or stars. It's the sense that you've found someone who loves their craft, loves their students, and is thriving in following their true calling. Lana's methods for teaching music theory has made a huge difference in my ability to read music and play with a richer sound. I have been taking piano lessons with Lana for nearly a year now. Her method of selecting professionally and personally arranged music combined with her expert lessons has methodically taught me the importance of music theory.
