Very pleased with Dottie and her team. My granddaughter had a bad experience with a different driving academy. We didn’t finish up our lessons or test with the other company and contacted Dottie. She quickly agreed to give her lessons. 2 sessions later she took the test and passed. Dottie was very quick to pick up on the fact that my granddaughter has anxiety and worked with her in ways to put her at ease instead of talking down to her. THANK YOU DOTTIE!
Sam, Stan & Dottie were all fantastic and helpful with my son. He learned so much from all of them. Keep up the great work 😉
Lexington Driving School has been an absolute blessing for our family. Their instructors are not only professional but also incredibly compassionate and patient. We’ve entrusted them with all three of our children, and each experience has been outstanding. Currently, Dottie is working with my third child, and he is thriving under her guidance. What truly sets this school apart is their experience in working with autistic learners. They take the time to understand each student’s needs and teach in a way that resonates with them. My son, who is on the spectrum, has gained the skills and confidence he needs, and he is now ready to take his driving test. Thanks to Lexington Driving School, there are no obstacles standing in the way of his independence. We are deeply grateful for their dedication and highly recommend them to any family looking for skilled, caring instructors who go above and beyond.
We recently went through the full driving school process with our teenage daughter, and Lexington Driving Academy earned our trust at every step. The initial 8-hour class was just what we expected. It wasn’t exciting, but it covered the essentials. The day was busy, the space was tight, and the staff did their best to keep things moving. Where the program really stood out was during the individual driving lessons. My daughter was paired with Ricky, and he was outstanding. He brought a calm, kind presence and adapted to her personality and learning style. One moment that stood out was when Ricky offered to meet us at a different location on his day off just to make scheduling work. That kind of flexibility and care is rare. On test day, Dottie administered the driving exam. My daughter was nervous, but Dottie put her at ease right away. She created a calm environment and offered specific, encouraging feedback that helped close out the process on a very positive note. This experience was both easy and excellent. That combination is hard to find, especially when it comes to something as important as helping your child learn to drive. We’ll definitely be back when our other children are ready.
I would not recommend them due to the disrespect I received from the owner, Dottie. My daughter did a total of 6 hours behind the wheel with a different instructor whom said she was doing really well on the road. They signed off on her driving certificate stating she successfully completed driving test and knowledge test. She did the road test with Dottie and returned about 10 minutes later stating that my daughter made a mistake on everything and she didn’t practice at home. I explained to Dottie that neither of my children practiced much with me because they were very nervous with me and that’s why I decided that driving school would be best for them. My son went to a different school and passed everything on the first try while he was in high school. Unfortunately that school wasn’t available so my daughter chose this school. Dottie continued to tell me that she’s been doing this over 20 years and she has never seen a teenager pass a road test with only 6 hours behind the wheel. I said “well would you like to meet my son”? I explained that she signed up for driving lessons so she would be comfortable, able to ask questions, and most importantly to make sure she was ready to drive safely. I wasn’t expecting to pay them over $300 and still have to teach my daughter everything. I also asked why wasn’t she offered additional lessons (that we would have happily paid for) but I was ignored as Dottie said she had to leave because she was late getting to Batesburg. She grabbed her things and rushed out the door!!
