I have been coming to multiple lifetime fitness locations since 2020. I now only do drop-ins rather than having full time membership due to traveling. Tonight when I dropped in paying $40 to use facilities for hour and half at the Tulsa/Bixby location - a staff member working in locker room very rudely told me I must wear something when I was in the women’s locker room sauna with my two towels. I do not appreciate coming here to be shamed and harassed when I’m in the locker room. Do I need to now feel awkward while changing into my bathing suit naked in women’s locker with staff members observing? I’ve used gyms such as the Equinox, Crunch Fitness, and Lifetime Fitness, etc since 2009. No one Ever has harassed anyone for being unclothed as long as they have towel in sauna or steam room. Rude. Lack of class.
On the hunt for a new gym. I swim every afternoon and is the sole reason I go here. Multiple times I've not been able to swim for various different reasons. Broken? No problem. Cleaning? No problem. But, when it's because they let hotel visitors use it because the hotel pool is broken (and there's not room for members) - that's pushing it. But now, they have an entire high school swim team using it every Mon - Friday all afternoon for over a year. Not only can I now not swim in the afternoons but I get to spend my time in the lockeroom with a bunch of high school kids.
They have raised rates 3 times since 2022. Management here has been suffering for years. Now they dont have a general manger. This is a daycare center for teenagers. Bad business practice to attempt to win over kids when they aren’t the ones funding the memberships. Loud obnoxious teenagers everywhere. You pay north of $120 dollars a month to workout at a gym where you are constantly pissed off due to teenagers everywhere and memberships being oversold and having to wait on people to get off a machine or get out of the way in the free-weight section. They have way too many people at this gym year round. Don’t even think about going around new year. It’s a joke. There are gyms closer by that dont oversell memberships. This gym is focused on packing the place with memberships. They could care less about members. Go somewhere else1
Too many people are allowed to attend this gym that don't pay!! And to make it worse, a large number of people pay a much lower rate than most of us United States born citizens! Perhaps you will see the most loyal and higher quality paying members fleeing and make an adjustment! I know many who have. After 30 years I'm out! Like many things, a lot of Americans continue to allow this type nonsense! I'm not one of them and I'm not going to pay a premium while those referenced pay a third of actual dues. What you allow will continue, change course! God Bless America!
The gym is clean, well presented, and the staff have all been quite friendly. Excellent, clean equipment, but again, the staff are the main event. After I had personnally suffered severe physical injury, after hospital PT, I was convinced to go to Lifetime to get "back in shape"; truly, get into shape for the second time in my entire adult life. I was fortunate to be paired with a new-to-Lifetime, but a lifetime (pun slightly intended) physical fitness boss, Alton. In the first half-hour of meeting my new personal trainer, I knew I had found a physical fitness partner, and later, a friend. Despite friendship, he punishes me relentlessly but always has an encouraging word. Pushes you, and congratulates you for whatever you can accomplish. I've never met a trainer like Alton Chan. I dread and look forward to every workout with my friend, Alton.
