If you’re looking for high-quality art tuition in London, I highly recommend LFAS, for three reasons... 1) Instructors: The tutors are really talented artists who communicate incredibly well. They seem to really understand students’ struggles, and they convey solutions clearly. The environment feels solid and supportive. 2) Courses: LFAS teaches foundational principles in a structured, easy-to-understand way. They also offer a focused but good range of courses and workshops, all of which build on these principles. The emphasis is on life drawing and painting. So far, I have studied Foundation 1&2, Anatomy, Landscape, Pastel Portraiture and Still Life - and I absolutely adored these classes. 3) Studios: The school is kitted out with good quality easels, beautiful plaster casts, effective lighting, multiple props etc. They also have a little shop on site which sells materials and delicious coffee. I definitely recommend LFAS to anyone looking to study life painting or drawing.

The founder is very exploitative, both emotionally and financially. I wanted to be an artist like Ann, the founder and main teacher. I recommend the teachers Joni and Mark. I prefer more welcoming places to study.

I took some friends for a class at London Fine Art Studios. None of us had any art experience but after a few hours with Ann, we all produced pieces of art that we woud have never envisaged being possible. We had great fun as well and I would highly recommend spending time learning to draw and paint at this studio

I have been studying at LFAS for four terms with the aim of becoming a full time professional artist. I have only got positive things to say about the studio, it has a supportive, inclusive and fun atmosphere. For me it’s biggest strength is its variety of teaching and tutors. The tutors have been trained in ateliers and art schools across the globe, such as Florence, Russia and the UK. And the nice thing about this is that you are able to cherry pick the ideology and methods that work for you from the different tutors. This ultimately leads to the school producing well rounded and adaptable artists that have a strong foundation that they can then build upon when they graduate.

The structured approach to learning the craft of drawing and painting offered by London Fine Art Studios is, for me, an essential foundation to my growing confidence in making art. All of the tutors I have had in my two years of studying part time here are excellent artists and teachers, with the ability to give insightful critique, advice and encouragement. The ratio of tutors to students is great and the setup, often with widely varying experience within a class, means that there is a great deal to learn from sharing one’s art journey with the other students. It is a wonderful community to be a part of. I cannot recommend London Fine Art Studios highly enough.
