🥐 Best breakies in town, no joke! Savory, sweet, all the pastries — bangin’ 😋🔥 💧 Free sparkling water, mate! Gotta love it 🥂💦 👌 Taste & texture? Spot on! They’ve nailed it proper, even with a small selection 🤌✨ 👥 Crowded as heck all day — do some phone scrollin’ while ya wait ⏳📱 💯 Totally worth it — if you’re in Melbourne and love pastries, don’t even think twice! 🥐❤️
This is surely one of the longest queuing place you would see in Melbourne CBD area. Lune is a bakery cafe that sells croissants and coffee. We queued and waited for almost 45 min before we got our food. Overall verdict: it’s worth the wait but we do notice there are also other very high quality bakery in Melbourne and you probably don’t need to wait so long. Highly recommend: their Almond croissant!!! Hands down this is our favourite. Once you bite it, the almond fragrance and taste invaded my taste bud. The flaky croissant goes well for me with coffee in the morning Ham & Gruyere and chocolate croissant are fine too but still, the almond croissant wins! We will surely be back again when we return to Melbourne :)
I visited because it’s very popular on Korean blogs (Naver), but honestly, it was a bit of a mixed experience. I waited over 20 minutes in line, and while the original and Pain au Chocolat were decent, I don’t think they were worth the hype or the wait. Coming from Korea, where the bakery scene is incredibly competitive, I’ve had much better croissants back home. It felt like it’s only considered the best here because the local standards might be a bit lower. I’m no expert on dough fermentation, but I felt like the inside could have been chewier and more "alive." As for the outside, I usually expect a croissant to be so shatteringly crisp that you almost worry about scratching the roof of your mouth, but this one didn’t quite get there. It was just an average, okay croissant. One thing I appreciated was that the staff came out and let everyone in line know that the Almond Croissants were sold out. It saved us from a disappointment at the counter! On the plus side, the complimentary sparkling water on tap was a very thoughtful touch. If there’s a spot to stand and eat, it’s worth a quick visit, but don’t expect to be blown away. They could definitely step up their game! On a positive note, the staff were lovely and provided great service throughout.
This store came highly recommended; however, I was hugely disappointed. It begins with the sign that says there’s a credit card surcharge as you walk in the door. And that same sign says that you must pay with a credit card. What are they thinking? A surcharge only makes sense if they accept cash. We ordered an almond croissant, a chocolate croissant, and a latte. The food came out quickly, but my “chocolate” croissant had literally no chocolate in it. I went to the counter to ask what happened and the employee said they would get me a new one, so long as I went back and got in the line again. Like I really wanted to wait another 15 minutes. So I went to a different employee who quickly swapped it out for a second “chocolate” croissant that had almost no chocolate. (You can see this in the picture.) at these prices, I expect a lot better. There are so many dessert places in Melbourne that are better that there’s no reason to waste your hard-earned money here.
Exceptional experience @ Lune, Melbourne Lune, located at the iconic 16/161 Collins St, is more than a patisserie—it’s a culinary experience that lives up to the hype. From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted by the stunning warehouse-feel ambience—open, minimalist, and beautifully industrial, with a glass-walled "lab" where you can watch the pastry chefs at work. The space is cool, crisp, and thoughtfully designed, making the act of picking up a croissant feel special and almost theatrical. Of course, the true stars are the exceptionally delicious pastries. Each item is a masterpiece of precision and flavor. The croissants are the gold standard—incredibly flaky, buttery, and perfectly laminated. Whether you go for the classic plain, a rich almond, or one of their innovative seasonal specials, you are guaranteed perfection. Their selection of viennoiserie and pastries is consistently brilliant, and the coffee (and related beverages) is excellent, providing the ideal pairing. While there can be a queue, it moves efficiently and is absolutely worth the wait. The service is sharp and knowledgeable, adding to the seamless, premium experience. For anyone in Melbourne with an appreciation for the art of pastry, Lune is not just a store—it’s a destination. A flawless five-star experience for the senses.
