Saw Georgiana and Kitty here. I brought my friends from out of town and they loved it! It was a fabulous production and we loved the intimate stage.
The Main Street Theater (Rice Village) is an amazing venue. Being located in Rice Village, it is surrounded by many restaurants, lounges and stores to make an amazing outing. Whether you attend a matinee or evening show, there is always something else to do in the area. It is a smaller stage which means the players are close, which an intimate theatrical experience. I have gone to several performances there and I am always amazed by the spectacular level of talent that plays there. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The facility is always clean and well organized. Great entertainment!!! Houston nightlife.
I found Main Street Theatre to be a charming little drama space where great shows are performed. They have a concession stand showing intermission for snacks and beverages. I didnt partake because it's in Rice village so it's surrounded by several wonderful eateries within walking distance. I deducted a star for the temperature. It wasn't ridiculously hot inside, but it was warm. Given that it was 88° outside along with stage lights, the AC should have been lowered to make it more in the comfortable inside of the small confined theatre space. For that alone I could only give four stars.
Intimate theater, feels like the audience is participating in the production. I was there for a reading of a new play. After the play, we were told that the cast had only had 9 days of rehearsal! I would never have guessed; their performances were pitch perfect. Overall, very professional in every aspect; I’ll be back!
Absolutely amazing! We love Main Street Theater for Youth. My children are all adults now, but they have not forgotten Main Street Theater. My college senior sent me a text a few weeks ago and said he wants to go back. He is 22!
