Working with Marin Design Co. was my favorite part about building our new home. Marin was on board before we even selected a builder, and stayed with us throughout the entire almost-3-year process of turning an empty piece of land into our dream home. Marin is so talented. Her designs are gorgeous and timeless. She had the ability to take multiple pictures from homes that I loved and tell me what they specifically had in common, and then produce designs for our house that were tailor-made to my interests and preferences. Even if I didn’t recognize what it was about a group of images from the internet that spoke to me, she could pinpoint the common elements and then incorporate them into her designs. And now my house looks like those fancy internet pictures that I used to collect. Our home is seriously beyond what I ever could have dreamed up for my family. Marin’s team guided us through so many tricky situations and were able to find creative solutions time and time again to problems that arose that seemed (to me) to be insurmountable. On top of that, Marin and her team always made me feel like my opinion was valid and important, and worked with me until we found solutions that were satisfactory to me. They never made me feel like I was being unreasonable, dramatic, or a diva, no matter how I reacted to situations that came up, and they talked me down from a ledge many times :) The ladies at MDC are the kind of people you would want to hang out with in real life— they’re beautiful people, inside and out. The building process was completely foreign to our family before this experience, and having Marin there to guide us and be a go-between was such a blessing. She designed most of the spaces in our home, so we will always have a little bit of MDC around here.
To say we are obsessed with our remodel would be an understatement. We adore our new expanded space and cannot believe this is our house. The Marin Design team knocked it out of the park! We are honored to be Kerstin Gardey’s first solo project! She was meticulous and thoughtful when designing our space and captured our style perfectly. She was professional and delightful to work with.
I have so many great things to say about working with Marin & her team...not sure where to begin! Here's how I'd crystalize what I appreciated most about this business - - - (1) Talent: Without a doubt, this entire team is incredibly talented. They have the ability to take in your feedback, likes/dislikes, and articulate this through design - then bring it to life, adapting to your lifestyle and needs. (2) Feedback: They did a fantastic job understanding adapting to feedback, and communicating timelines / implications. (3) Communication: Per point #2, they were consistently responsive & detail oriented in all communications. I felt comfortable seeking further explanation as this was the first time I'd worked with a design firm. (4) Quality: Their work excels beyond the actual eye for design - and the quality is great in everything they recommended. We enjoy this room on a daily basis with 4 kids, and I'm still madly in love with everything about it! (5) Styling: I didn't quite understand the value of this at fist (when they explained how they style your home, then you decide what to keep and choose), but OH MY GOSH this was game changing. It allows them to show you what's really possible with the right eye, and far surpassed my expectations. I couldn't recommend this business and team enough!
The folks at Marin Design Co. had a great sense of style and really made our space look fantastic. Working with them was a lot of fun, and they brought a lot of positive energy to the project. Overall, we were really happy with the end result and would definitely recommend their services!
I am so happy I chose Marin Design Co to help with my new build. Marin and her team are professional, organized and make the whole process effortless. Marin was always available for questions or concerns that came up with the project. I would 100% recommend this company. She definitely deserves a 5 star rating!
