Love this museum and the whole area. The architecture and the lighting of this building and tree lined walkways around make for a relaxing yet stimulating experience.
Located at 3200 Darnell Street in Fort Worth’s Cultural District, the Modern is an exceptional destination for art lovers and architecture enthusiasts alike. The museum’s building, designed by renowned architect Tadao Ando, features concrete, glass and steel pavilions that seem to float above a reflecting pond — a true modern masterpiece. Inside, you’ll find more than 3,000 works of art from the post-World War II era to the present, including pieces by major artists across multiple movements. The grounds are tranquil and beautifully maintained, offering peaceful spots for reflection and photography. Visitor Tips: Free parking is available in the museum lots. For busy times, additional free parking is offered in nearby garages on weekends. Admission is reasonably priced. Plan to spend at least 1–2 hours to fully appreciate both the architecture and the exhibitions — it’s well worth the time.
Yesterday while in FT Worth, Texas I visited the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth and Kimbell Art Museum. The contrast between the two is great to see one after another to observe the evolution of people's creative abilities.
This museum is as beautiful as the art it features. It is free to visit on the first Friday of the month. There is a happy hour with a jazz quartet in the entrance area.
Oh wow, what a total sanctuary! I loved all the nooks and crannies of this museum, you never know what you will see around the corner. Loved the exhibits, and this was one of the best museums of Modern Art besides Milwaukee. They I have been to. Highly recommend going.
