Picturesque winery with great views of the vineyards and a pretty good sculpture trail. The wines are so-so, but most people come for the food and ambience. There are multiple dining options and areas including formal, casual and picnic. In peak holiday season all three can be booked out, so plan your visit in advance and book accordingly.

We had an incredible time at Montalto in the garden room celebrating my husband’s 60th birthday! The food was exquisite, the wine divine and the view breathtaking but the most memorable part of our day was the exceptional service from Oscar who was overseeing our function. Oscar was very attentive to any dietary requirements and made sure that everyone was uniquely catered for and it was no trouble for him (despite lots of rain) to attend to our every need. A friendly, warm and kind young man who is a testament to the quality and high standards of Montalto. Thank you so much Oscar and Montalto. The day was so wonderful and memorable and we will be back! 🥂

We booked Montalto for our 1st wedding anniversary lunch at The Restaurant — and it was simply perfect! From the moment we arrived, the customer service was outstanding, especially from Charlotte and another gentlemen, who warmly welcomed us, explained the menu, and even wished us a happy anniversary. We had the 3-course menu, and every single dish was divine: 🌱 The spring vegetable toast — I wish there was a tray of it! So good. 🔥 The burnt butter — smoky, airy, light perfection. 🥣 The hummus — I should’ve asked for seconds! 🌿 The artichoke — I’m usually not a fan, but wow, absolutely phenomenal. 🍖 The lamb rump and 🐟 rainbow trout were perfectly balanced, and the potatoes… to die for! Absolute heaven. Even the cabbage was delicious. We paired our meal with a sparkling rosé and Pinot Gris, both perfect matches for the flavours 🍾. A special thank you to the team for the complimentary scallops and wine tasting at the cellar door — such a thoughtful touch that made our day even more special 🥂. What a way to celebrate our anniversary! Huge praise to the entire Montalto team for their effortless service, warmth, and attention to detail. Highly, highly recommend!

We came here for my fiancé’s birthday lunch and what a treat it was. Food was outstanding, some of the best we have ever had with perfect wine pairings to match. The staff were warm and attentive, even offering us a sneak tasting of a new cocktail after we loved the two that we ordered. Thank you for a fabulous dining experience - We can’t wait to come back for the new summer menu!

Since moving to the Peninsula, we’ve become regulars at Montalto — and happily so. One of our greatest pleasures is bringing friends from Melbourne for a long lunch at the restaurant, and without fail, they leave as delighted as we are. The staff are consistently genuine, warm, and professional. Whether in the restaurant or the tasting room, they work seamlessly as a team and always go the extra mile to make each visit memorable. The wines are outstanding, the food is exceptional, and the sweeping vineyard views are simply breathtaking. Every aspect of Montalto continues to impress.
