We acknowledge the consistently high quality of medical service and the exceptional care provided to my daughter by your office and staff. The medical professionals here exhibit true care for the physical well-being of their patients. However, we must express disappointment regarding the lack of transparency in communicating the cost of services for a recent service experience. During a recent sick visit, a urinalysis was discussed as an optional, "peace of mind" diagnostic in addition to several other tests we agreed to perform with the physician. The physician and our family concurred that a Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) was highly unlikely, and that a urinalysis was not absolutely necessary, but could be performed for peace of mind. Prior to consenting to the test, we inquired about the cost. The physician explained that the charge for a urinalysis would be negligible, on the order of less than $20. Based on this cost estimate, we authorized the test. Subsequently, we were billed, yes the negligible amount for the urinalysis, but also an additional $500 to us/our insurer for a "urinary surgery" related to the insertion of a catheter necessary for the urinalysis, a cost that was not disclosed to us. For the past several months, we have pursued resolution through Novant Health's billing and appeals processes, hoping this surprise billing item would be rectified. Despite multiple levels of appeal and involvement from the office staff, the charge remains upheld. I'm still optimistic that this billing dispute can be resolved.
Our daughter has been seeing Dr. Rankin for over three years now, and we continue to drive 40 minutes to this office in order for her to remain under his care, because he is that fantastic! He listens attentively to both children and parents, supports his recommendations with factual knowledge and never makes us feel rushed or foolish for our inquires. The office is clean, professional and timely, and every other staff member we have encountered has also been wonderful. I highly recommend him to any parent looking for a reliable and empathetic pediatrician.
I have been coming to Eastover Pediatrics since I was 4 years old back in 1996. Now my son has been attending since he was born and he is now 12. We were seen by Dr. Judy until she retired a few years ago. She was the best Dr. And always very compassionate. All the other doctors. We have seen since then have been fantastic also. Very polite, friendly, efficient, and sympathetic. Everyone here from the receptionists to nurses is very friendly and efficient. The space overall may seem small from the outside but very roomy inside. They have a fish tank and the kids all love it! They have a well-child waiting area and then another waiting area for the kids who are sick. They do have parking on site. It can get packed during peak hours. Overall this is such a great Dr.'s practice and I highly recommend it to anybody who asks. Love to see this practice still thriving even after all these years!
I want to start by saying this doctors office isn't pro family. They are causing conflicts, they are dividing my family. They are scheduling appointments against my will, they are circumventing me as the father in providing my children's mother information to make appointments behind my back. I'm done with this office, they lied to security, they are rescheduling appointments that I canceled, removing me from my chart. This doctors office has been trying to vaccinate my daughter behind my back, providing doctors to evaluate my child behind my back and when I say something they removed me from my chart. Dr Giftos has been the lead of this circus. He's doing everything but being a good doctor
We absolutely LOVE Eastover Pediatrics! They have been nothing but amazing since we had our son! I look forward to appointments knowing that we will be listened to and taken care of. When my son was 2 weeks and I was fresh in postpartum stress I messaged them on the middle of the night worried about my son’s cough. They had me in for an apt at 7:30 am that same day!!! I couldn’t believe how taken care of I felt and so relieved to have him seen so quickly. Dr Z and Whitney have always taken great care of us!
