Love this place! Emporium downtown is one of those shops you can wander through and always find something cool. The staff are super friendly and genuinely funny, which makes the experience even better — it feels relaxed and welcoming, not rushed or salesy. They have tons of stuff, from unique gifts to fun little finds, so there’s truly something for everyone. Whether you’re shopping for someone else or just browsing, it’s always a good time in here.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I really enjoy visiting Market Imperium. They offer a wide variety of cool and unique items, along with excellent customer service. Their selection covers all your anime needs and more. I highly recommend taking the time to stop by and check it out you won’t be disappointed.
This place was really something else. I mean like this place was absolutely huge. All organized carefully into niche sections. You wanna browse hot wheels from 2008-2026? They have those. You want to shop through a room full of star-wars memorabilia from Kenner action figures to those modern chewie masks? They have that. Do you just REALLY like Garfield? Like REALLY like Garfield? They have a wall section full of Garfield merch. Do you have an unhealthy obsession with FNAF? They have a big ol’ wall full of FNAF plushies. Now like most places I came here for the games and that’s what this review is based around mainly. The video game section is nothing to behold, 2 display cabinets with NES, SNES, and Xbox consoles, probably like 4 dozen games in total and nothing all too impressive. Mostly Xbox games and a few SNES or Genesis games that I imagine were forgotten Christmas presents from decades ago. Most interesting thing I saw was a copy of Billy Hatcher for the GameCube for $20 over market value. It’s an interesting stire to go to, but don’t expect anything less than tourist trap prices. Can’t say I’m disappointed, but I’m not impressed.
Posting again since my last review was deleted. I’ve been a customer here for years with zero issues — until this week, when the owner chose to call the police on me instead of simply talking to me. His stated reason was that “my tint was too dark” and that I was “double parked,” even though he walked past me, saw me clearly, and never once approached me. When police arrived, the officer confirmed I was barely touching the line — not blocking anything. If there was supposedly a “heavy smell,” it could’ve been addressed directly, and the officers made no mention of it. To add insult, before my first review disappeared, the owner responded with, “maybe think next time about what you were doing to have the police called on you.” That alone says everything about the mindset here — blame the customer before asking a single question. Meanwhile, I was followed around inside the store by an employee who didn’t appear to be doing anything related to the “projects” the owner claimed were happening. As a young Black woman who has supported this business for years, being stared at, watched, and then having police called on me for no real reason was deeply upsetting and completely unnecessary. That situation was avoidable with basic communication and respect. If the owner ever has a concern about a customer again, maybe think next time about speaking to them first instead of escalating to law enforcement. It would save a lot of trauma, embarrassment, and distrust — especially when the customer hasn’t done anything wrong.
Don’t waste your time — this place is a joke. I even called ahead to make sure they’d be interested in what I had to sell, and they told me to come in. But when I got there, they dismissed me without even looking at anything. Total waste of time. And to top it off, the guy started cursing at me and waving his hands aggressively. Completely unprofessional. They also said they only pay a third of an item’s value. I get needing profit, but a 200% markup is pretty excessive. If something sells for $3 and they offer $1, that’s a $2 profit — a 200% markup. Just seems greedy.
