We had a bit of a rocky experience initially, but I want to highlight how well it was handled afterwards. James, the engineer who attended, was very well mannered and polite, and Stephen at Origin was extremely helpful, approachable, and professional throughout. He took ownership of the situation and dealt with it properly, which says a lot about how the company is run. Because of the way this was handled, I’d have no hesitation in using Origin again and would happily recommend them. Good customer service makes all the difference.
First we were happy with our new bathroom but now we are finding area that was either missed or poorly completed, this is now taking the shine off all the work. The last day we felt it was rushed at the end which seeing the quality of the silicone or areas which wasn’t sealed before added suite We have now found damage to one of the wall panels which we wasn’t advised and tried to be hidden by using silicone, this should had been replaced. We also found a section of the wall panels which was cut too short leaving a large gap at floor level, this was hidden by extra thick bead of silicone which the gap still isn’t 100% sealed. I felt the finishing touches had let down the standard of work and would had been happy to pay a little more if the quality of work was better. Updated- I advised your staff on the areas that wasn't completed when they returned the next day due to new fitted shower not working, I was told was areas they couldnt reach due to fitting system before sealing not offer to fix was given at the time. 6 months later I had to redo mostly of the sealant as was either poorly done or was put on thick to hide the fact they cut the wet wall panels too short. I had to reattach chrome trim with something better than clear silicone around shower base due to this falling off, water backs up when running the sink which never happened before with old bathroom. Had family member who was going to arrange quote to get full new bathrooms also but they all went with other contractors after seeing all these faults.
My family home, which includes two young children lost our boiler power at lunch time on a cold Friday afternoon, early November 2025. I phoned Origin, a company that have been reliable and prompt in the past. The woman that answered took details of my boiler problem, seemed extremely knowledgeable and really, just delivered top quality customer service. Her personality was very friendly and re-assuring. She said she would and did indeed call me back a few minutes after managing to source one of her staff that was finishing a job 20 mins away. The man arrived and immediately started fixing my boiler. I felt so comfortable and assured by the engineer that I left my house and family to go back to and continue my own work. The engineer repaired my boiler, sorting the issue with receiver connectivity and at the same time demonstrated a high quality customer friendly personality. I would rank Origin Gas Plumbing and Heating with a ten out of ten. My family and I, on a cold Friday evening are happy and grateful to have heating.
ordered on Sunday 21st of a bank holiday weekend as our 5 year old boiler had broken down again for the 3rd year running. New 24kw Worcester/Bosch was fitted and running by 1600 on the 22nd. Guys cleaned up all the mess and took our 5yr old boiler away.
We have used Origin for five years. We cant praise Origin enough. We have never had any problems and the service has been amazing. A first class operation from initial contact with Amy to the final installation. The engineers are very knowledgeable and explain everything in layman’s terms. They also make sure that everything is clean and tidy before they leave. We have recommended Origin to many of our friends and they have never let us down. If you are looking for a company who are professional, personable, and have integrity, then look no further.
