Ottawa Art Academy ofrece instrucción personalizada en dibujo, dibujo de figura, anatomía y pintura al óleo en Ottawa. I’ve had a great experience as a student at the Ottawa Art Academy. Matt is an incredibly knowledgeable and supportive instructor who is genuinely passionate about teaching and helping students improve. The environment is welcoming and encouraging, and I’ve seen significant growth in both my skills and confidence. Learning the drawing process from start to finish has opened my eyes to techniques you can’t easily find online, and Matt’s corrections and mentorship throughout the process really help instill a strong understanding of the art form. I highly recommend the academy to anyone looking to develop their art through a program that allows you to improve skills and techniques at your own pace.

I have been to several life or figure drawing workshops at the Ottawa Art Academy. Matt creates a very welcoming, relaxed environment which supports the learning of artists with varying experience levels. He is really helpful in identifying what in a drawing is a little "off", when you can't see it yourself. I always enjoy learning at the Ottawa Art Academy!

I've been attending for 2 months and so far it has been very good. I had taken hobby drawing courses for years, and learned a lot very quickly working with the instructor Matt. Matt is very skilled and knowledgable about everything from technique, to pencil manufacturing. He's a wealth of knowledge and shares his skill and knowledge in an open and friendly manner. The new skills I've learned have imroved my drawings already and I'm excited to keep learning.

Through working with Matt I was able to prepare a portfolio to successfully get into Sheridan's animation program. I did lessons with Matt for figure drawing and improving anatomy. These lessons are great for students making college/university portfolios since figure drawing is not taught in highschool. Matt is a fantastic teacher and great to talk to. He is very knowledgeable about life drawing and helped by identifying areas I need to work on, giving me assignments, and doing draw-overs of my figure drawings. At Ottawa Art Academy I was able to get a quality education on figure drawing that I wasn't able to find elsewhere in Ottawa. I recommend Matt's art classes for anyone wanting to develop their skills in life drawing/anatomy!

It’s by the far the best school in Ottawa if you’re looking for technical drawing and oil painting lessons, portfolio creation and more. Classes can be tailored to your level and desired goals, and you will learn to draw and paint the way the old master did.
