Been here many many times for lunch and the service and food has consistently been soo good! I’ve tried most of the menu and I have never been disappointed. And today I tried their beef Bahn mi and words can’t begin to express how delicious that was! I will def be ordering again I just want the whole world to know how good it is. And I’m upset at myself for not snapping a pic before I ate it.
Pho Van is a nice and clean spot with fast, friendly service. We ordered the Pho Tai, and while the food was good, it wasn't outstanding. The broth was decent, but the meat could have been more tender. Overall, its a solid choice if you're in the mood for a soup on a rainy day, but don't expect it to be the best you've ever had.
Went there for lunch today! Thought this place was DELICIOUS. I ordered the pork banh mi and wonton soup and I finished both. The pork on the banh mi was super flavorful and had a char that almost made it seem like it was cooked over a charcoal grill. So good. The bread and veggies on the banh mi were excellent as well. The wonton soup was also SO yummy. The broth was flavorful and light, and the wontons had (I think) a shrimp and pork filling. Service was nice. It was very hands off, which worked well since it’s a small restaurant. It was slow enough when we went that if I needed anything, I could just look at one of the servers and they would come right over. My boyfriend got one of the rice plates, which he thought was very tasty, but he didn’t think the portion was big enough for his appetite. He had a bite of my sandwich, ended up finishing his sliced pork and rice plate, was still hungry, and then we ordered another banh mi for him. He finished that too! One thing to note: their prices have gone up. I looked at old reviews and saw the banh mi used to be $6.50, and it’s now $7.99. The wonton soup was $5.75, and I think it used to be around $3. Not a big deal, just something I noticed. So yummy, would recommend. And here’s a photo of the delicious wonton soup!
The pho place is really clean and looks ultra new! The owners put a lot of effort into the designs! The service is very attentive and the foods are served quite fast! We tried one pho, one BBQ rice, and a banh mi! The banh mi was really good! The pho was a bit light and clean in the broth! Didn't get to have other phos in Austin, but I suppose this one already has a pretty good rating compare to other ones for some reason!
I tried this place and had mixed feelings about it. The restaurant was clean and nice, with great service. The food came out very quickly, but the pho and bun bo lacked bold flavors. I ordered a large bowl of pho, but was disappointed by the limited meat toppings. Grilled pork rolls were goid though. While it was an okay place, it did not quite live up to my expectations of authentic Vietnamese food.
