The extremely high cost of membership is the first deterrent. This is Ritz Carlton pricing for Super 8 quality. Could maybe pass for a Holiday Inn, if you squint. Though you cannot break your contact, PAC reserves the right to increase membership fees at their discretion and whimsy. Pretty good way to get locked into an extreme membership increase with no legal recourse. Deterrent two. The fees for everything nonsense needs to end. Any place that charges bogus sign up fees or towel fees or locker fees...soon they'll put parking meters in their own lot and charge fees for parking, too. No thanks. Deterrent three. The PAC is overpriced and it's nothing special. If they eliminated the nonsense fees, reduced membership rates to $30-$40 (a realistic and reasonable rate, given the ratty condition and state of the place), and eliminated contracts this place would be ideal. Until then watch out for the duct taped carpets that will trip you, machines that are designed very well for holding out of order signs, and fees for toilet paper use (OK, making that up but I've given them more ideas. I need to stop).
I'm disappointed and shocked that the new owners are raising rates on existing members, despite the agreement at the time of initial sign-on that rates would not increase for as long as you remain a member. That was one of their selling point at the time that I signed up about 7 years ago and they have honored that promise until now. I'm sure there are other gyms that still have and honor a "no rate increase" policy. Go there. I wouldn't be surprised if the new owners of PAC plan to raise rates on their members every year going forward. There's a bright side -- this policy reversal might thin out the sheer volume of members. There were times when the place was packed and you couldn't even find a parking spot.
I always enjoy going to the gym here, they got everything you might need and more. The PAC daycare is awesome with friendly staff who always welcome my kids with a smile. The indoor swimming pools are filtered twice a year, life guards are always on duty even when the signs says otherwise lol
Private swim lessons for my daughter with special needs is extremely hard to find! EVERY person on staff we encountered was great, helpful and happy to accommodate! Facility is a little dated but the experience makes you forget! Highly recommend for non verbal children!
This place needs to up their membership!!!! All of their gyms are amazing, clean, up to date. The outdoor pool areas are so awesome, fun, family oriented. My son attends the summer camp here & the staff remember him from years prior. The staff is always so cheerful & friendly. I’m so glad they care about their establishment and I would gladly pay more for a membership than they charge. It’s rather cheap for everything you get. Plus the type of people that frequent here are very respectful & pleasant. Parents aren’t letting their kids run wild, not once have I ever had to worry about someone taking off with our pool toys or bullying my kids. Thank you for providing a great place.
